Bama's defense dominated that game. If they had any semblence of an offense that could do anything other than run the clock out (and miss wide open receivers for bombs), this would've been a blowout. There's no way that should've been a 3 pt. game.
OK, today sucked, but I actually got to be with my two brothers (who also went to Tech) so it was still enjoyable. Game-wise? We had that game... I was about to roundhouse the kicker, but the referees decided that would be unfair. Whatever............ Worst QB in TT's about to go! Here's to the Big 12 learning Big Pain! Fatty has spoken!
Mike Leach will someday coach a great team. That great team will not bear the name "Texas Tech." It'll be Texas, or Penn St., or Washington, or Oklahoma, or Georgia or...well, you get the point. Mike Leach is a smart guy playing with a deck stacked against him. Today, Texas Tech proved, once again, that they aren't that talented. It's hardly a surpise. My only regret is that they weren't fun before losing. I always watch a Tech game, because of how fun they are. Today: bah.
Tech gets more and more talented every year - their problem is a lack of experience at QB. I think Alabama just proved how phenomenal their defense is. Even without any semblence of an offense, that defense goes out there and dominates. They held Florida to 3 pts earlier this year. They were, I believe the #2 or #3 scoring defense in the country.
Besides which, Alabama started the season 9-0 and was ranked high than Tech going into the Bowl game. Yet it was a 3 pt game - I think it just shows that the teams were evenly matched (albeit in completely different styles) and the rankings were about right. #13 beat #18 by 3 pts.
Agreed. That one throw to Hicks was amazing. Pretty much no margin for error. Leach should stick it out at Tech for at least a few seasons. The classes have gotten better and better, and their three top receivers are all sophomores, I believe.
I don't know... they should easily be a top-25 team next year IMO. They're doing good things over there in Lubbock. The program is definitely still on it's way up.
