They should be as much of an all-time great as Nirvana, who is quite overrated (and I like them). Chinese Democracy is pretty good and would have been huge if DJs didn't sort of boycott it b/c there were no other original members playing on it. Heatseeker, lol. That's like one of the few AC/DC songs no one even knows. That didn't change anything.
Oh Really? It created this: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z42CcNFkPjY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z42CcNFkPjY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Strawberry Alarm Clock was actually good live. They opened for one of Jefferson Airplane's concerts at the Coliseum, in Houston. Ironically, a far better group was billed third, playing before the Alarm Clock (or whatever short name you care to give a decent group that were a one hit wonder). Buffalo Springfield. That was a great night.
Lol. It stood for nothing. It was short for "SUFFER!" As in we'd just ruined something you did, said, etc. We also had "NATED." which meant "high" but basically meant anything, such as inebriated, intoxicated, annihilated, etc. It was high school, and it was fun. Especially because we had a funny hand gesture whenever we did the "SUFF" thing. Lol. I still have to have a couple of those. We had a few more sayings and things. That said, "Meh" was mine. Always has been. To the point that when the Simpsons did it after ten years of me saying it, it was coincidence. I don't care. I like people knowing that "meh" and "blargh" were created by me.
I got you beat: I invented the term "robobot" six years before the comic strip F Minus used it. A robobot is a robot made from other robots. I soiled myself when I read the funnies that day.
Awesome. Come out and meet my friends sometime. It's not anything new. They were whining about me taking credit when the Simpson's came out with it. Meh. "Creating a word" is an argument I can't prove, so I'll stop. But a Simpsons creator certainly didn't.
I also arbitrarily started calling my college roommate "Sluggo", then, months later, a commercial had a guy use the line "Easy, Sluggo." To this day, we still swear that they're watching us. Hanging out with you would be a riot, but I don't own any silk shirts. Can you slip me in with the busboys at Pub Fiction?
"Sluggo" was a character in a '30's comic. I didn't even try to create "meh." But when it became something, I decided to prove my friends wrong by doing "Blargh." Can I prove I "invented" the word? Of course not. But I used it to piss people off originally. It sounded better than "whatever" which was horribly overused. I'm pretty sure I'm better than everyone here. So let's have some fun. Why don't I come up with another random-ass word. If it isn't in the dictionary in 5 years, I'll ban myself.
Guns and Roses All time Great? All time great what? Look, I liked some of their songs, but there has to be some clarification if we're gonna name them all time great anything... and I'm not sure we could find criteria that would make them all time great anything that is of any renown. Heatseaker a gamechanger? Because it made that Thundercrap thing possible? well, if that's a game changer I wish I had busted the patriot missile on that offensive because I could live without both of them. I like me some AC/DC too, but neither of those songs are worth mentioning in the explanation of why. Hate to be all negative, but come on, what are you people on?
I created the Wild Armadillo. I'm assuming everyone knows what that is by now. And no, not the goofy looking animal.
It allowed them to see their true idea of what the 90's should sound like. Beautifully allowed the 80's to join the 90's. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xMUgmU_Hsjc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xMUgmU_Hsjc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
