Also, about 3,800 persons younger than 18 years of age smoked their first cigarette, the cigarette industry spent $22 million on advertising and promotions, and 1200 people died from tobacco related disease. (presuming it's an average day)

    FREEDOM!

    pack it in already

I'm not going to respond to the argument of PRO or AGAINST gun control... because it's dumb to do that in the HANGOUT.

Glad that situation didn't get worse than that... it doesn't even say the gun man fired the weapon, did it?

...and fortunately those numbers are historically rather low, (nearly 50% lower than they were in the 1990's....) than they've been, thanks in large part to a substantial legal and regulatory regime around cigarrettes .

I would be happy with a similar campaign against firearms (punitive taxes, restrictions on public use). I'd think they'd substantially reduce the amount of firearms in circulation, which inevitably leads to fewer gun-related deaths and injuries.

PS why is this in this forum?

So what? We can still buy that stuff anyway, unless it gets sent to Mexico first.

So, what does this have to do with background checks? Since, after all, that's where Congress has held up at the moment.

    Also, D&D maybe?
