lol @ guitar players laughing at Guitar Hero. The argument's so old. It's a game. I COULD play basketball in real life, but then I'd have to go outside and that takes too much effort and sunlight, hence NBA Live.

Anyway, I've been wanting Through the Fire and Flames since the first GH. I'm probably going to get the game just for this song after thinking about saving up for Rock Band.

In terms of similarities aren't GH and Guitar pretty far apart? 5 Buttons on GH, 1 Strumming thing. A LOT of places to put your fingers on a real guitar, 6 strings.

Playing Guitar Hero won't do crap for helping you play real guitar.

that is a fact....unfortunately, I suck at real guitar (thats why I play bass :p )

I dont get enough play time to get good at GH, my fingers get in the way (strangely enough, just like real guitar)

If it isnt too much to ask, could someone list the songs on the 80s version?

are any of the songs repeats from earlier versions of the game?

I really like 80s hard rock\metal, so what you consider suckage might be good for me.

Add me to the list of people who enjoy guitar hero more than sitting at my computer all day high on weed trying to compose music while simultenously laughing at how pathetic the world is.

Sorry this is off topic, but have you ever read Fargo Rock City?

It is an almost scholarly look at Heavy Metal particularly 80's metal by Chuck Klosterman. He grew up in rural North Dakota, and tells anecdotes from his childhood and goes in depth discussing the metal songs.

Just from your list and comments it made me think you might like that book, if you haven't already read it.
