Just to clarify, that was not my intent. I was responding to Surfguy's post about GH preparing people to play guitar. I have no problem with the game at all. I said it was fun.

I can see why some of they discredit GH as bull****. Its not like when you're playing Madden you hold a fake football and you call audibles like Peyton Manning and you throw the fake football to an open receiver (although that would be pretty cool)

But seriously if anything, it helps strum up more interest in guitar playing in general. Rocketman Tex is mostly just a bitter old fogey anyway who goes out of his way to flame everything on this board that has become popular within the past 100 years. After which he sets his keyboard down with satisfaction and continues to play backgammon with himself while muttering "damn kids"

So you would have no problem with the game if everyone just played on the controllers?

It seems like Wii would have some sort of drumming game.

We don't want you POSERs on our turf, man. I'm not off playing live at Billy Bob's so you POSERS can go into some bar somewhere and play karaoke guitar. Then, stages start turning into poser platforms. And, then, I'll be back to playing in my home studio or garage...while you primadonna a-holes fake your sh*t up with your pieces of rosewood plastic on your incorrectly fret-spaced fretboards. Stick to playing fake tennis on your Wiis, man. lol :D

That's a joke, obviously. No offense intended.

It was a JOKE, son! :D

Seriously, I don't have a problem with Guitar Hero. Like I said, if you want to do it, knock yourself out.

I just happen to think it's really geeky and dorky, and that's more than likely because I make money doing the real thing.

This argument is so cliched it's not worth arguing over anymore.

Anyway, GH3:LOR...I got it for the Wii and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Went all the way through with the hard difficulty and couldn't finish off "One" and the Slayer song. So I had to go redo it all on medium just so I can finally get to play me some Dragonforce. It was worth it.

Some group of people is going to get together and make the next hit song using nothing but their consoles.

And THAT is going to rock......making music easier to play is a good thing.

Since they're releasing it for Wii, I think I'm going to get it. I've only played the previous two a couple of times, but enjoyed it. I'll see how it goes.

I think it is like the air guitar people played in their rooms, or using a tennis racket in your room jumping around pretending that you were a rock super star.

This isn't any different. It makes sense that people who really play don't have to pretend to be doing it, and don't play at what they do for work.
