Can't wait to get this. I've come to grips with the fact that I can't handle hard mode. With GHII I could only finish like 8 songs on hard. After that it comes to a point where you have to practice specific songs a ton and really I don't have time for all that. But still definitely going to get this game.
my teenage cousin got that game and pretty much stopped playing real guitar in favor of guitar hero - i just dont get it. im not a big video game person though.
Exactly... besides the wireless guitar being added to the xbox360. I wish from here on out, they put all the new songs online, and you can simply choose which ones to buy/donwload... rather than having to buy the whole new game itself.
I'm waiting for Rock Band. I burned a copy of the GHIII demo last week and have been playing it, but it doesn't seem to offer a whole lot more than part II (besides online play). Plus the fact that Rock Band is produced by the original developers that made GHI and II, and GHIII was made by Activision.
And I love the guitar players that get all pissy about people being excited about Guitar Hero. That's like Tom Brady making fun of you because Madden isn't "real football." Dumb.
heh, that's a good point. i'd like to play the new songs on here but i don't really want to buy it. i just got halo 3 and nba 2k8 and i barely have time to play those.
Not getting pissy. Just making fun of something that looks rather inane to me, that's all. The difference between playing a guitar to playing Guitar Hero, to me, is like the difference between making love to a woman and jerking off. If you want to spend your money and your time doing it, more power to you. As for me, I'll take the real thing. By the way...which one of you guys is the one on the left in this video? Fess up!! <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dVUgd8ot6BE&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dVUgd8ot6BE&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Just curious...have you ever played the game? I ask because, as a guitar player myself, I kind of had your attitude until I played it. Then, I realized it's just another fun game. The problem I see with it...is it taking away from time spent playing real guitar. I haven't bought any version of the game and only played someone else's. I was thinking about picking up GH III but I don't want to sacrifice my regular time spent on the real guitar for it. I can see novice guitar players dropping real guitar for it but not if you can play real guitar pretty well. Screw that. I think if you can't play real guitar well...then your looking for something like GH to give you the substitute highs you would normally get from achieving something on real guitar. It's all about the dopamine.
Nope. No desire to. It's not playing guitar...it's pushing buttons. But I do agree...it's all about the dopamine. The whole world is turning into one big sim. Kind of frightening, IMHO.
no offense, but you sound like a completely close-minded person. and not only that, but you like to exaggerate things in a hyperbolic way...with the whole 'omg what is the world coming to' type of statements it's just a game, for fun...not hard to understand. no different than anything else people do for fun. every friend I know who plays guitar for real (like myself) enjoys Guitar Hero *to some extent*. that doesn't mean every single one of them plays it hardcore or is addicted to it, or even owns it. but every one who has at least tried it, thinks it's fun at some level chill the hell out with all your doom and gloom, lol
Not exaggerating a thing. Just a musician who makes money playing gigs who gets a giggle from gamers playing "rock star". It's silly to me. If you want to like, go shreddin' with your toy guitar, go for it. Knock yourself out Junior! By the way...you are the guy on the left in the video I posted, aren't you!
rofl...I hope for your ego's sake, you're actually as good as you seem to imply to be. what type of music do you play, like shredding fast metal or slow classic rock, hard rock, or what? since you're the one who started the bragging, I'll have to check you out in person...you better be some shredder and guitar god
Youre GD right they are!!! Ive been playing the game (on PS2) for a few days. Its still enjoyable. The battles against the real life guitarists (Tom Morelleo & Slash) are the most difficult part. Morello whooped my ass about 9 times before I finally got him. Pretty cool game.
Blues and alt-country. No heavy metal. Come check it out. No offense, but are you old enough to get into a bar? If your still in high school, you might have to wait 4 or 5 years, since we play where adults go to drink. Let me know.
