    Just saw the report. He was 70, which surprised me a bit. I saw him several times in clubs and in larger venues. The guy was amazing! Sad news. :-(-

    RIP Johnny. A Texas great guitar slinger deluxe. I remember when I was maybe 12 yo and my Dad had taken me to a record store so I could buy a Mott the Hoople record (Brain Capers). while we were there, Johnny Winter's 'Still Alive and Well' LP was playing over the stores speakers. My Dad liked it so much he bought it for himself. I later claimed it as my own.
