The additional cost of the B&M stores is exactly why they can't compete. They have to pay leases for the large buildings, electricity, staffing, insurance and then they have to keep the stores stocked which ties up millions in revenue. Meanwhile Amazon creates a few huge warehouses in tax friendly states and sells to the masses.

It is sad, but it is our future.

I don't know what kind of musician you are but I would never buy a guitar online especially an acoustic. I have a guitar that I bought for $60 replaced the tuning heads and added a pickup myself. That said if I am going to pay a $1,000 for a guitar I am going to want to hear it, play it and see how it feels without buying and then having to do a lot of work on it. It doesn't matter if I can play the same model an older acoustic isn't going to sound or feel exactly the same as another one.

I've bought several guitars online, although I am a horrible guitar player. One from a retailer, and one from Craigslist which I got to see before purchasing.

Knowing nothing about guitars, I'm going to guess that there's a Monster cable version of the pick, am I right? And when that overpriced merchandise isn't moving off the racks anymore, hard times are right around the corner.
