According to the passage you quoted, you are suggesting Chinese to re-write history book, from the old versions, right? The article said that some of those controversial contents were removed from the old version. So obviously, the new version is a step forward. And yet, you concluded from this very article, you are concerned that "Chinese manipulation of their history within their text books for political purposes"? You even started a thread about "who else is re-writing ..." after the shrine visit debate. As you reiterated again and again in this thread, that Chinese is re-writing history same as Japanese are.

How did you get that conclusion from that article, or from the quote you had? Are you suggesting Chinese to keep the old version, or re-write history books? Can you make up your mind? Is reasoning with simple logic that difficult of a concept?

Now this is just funny. Why is it that it occurred to me that the number of "arguments" dwindle with each and every time you post? I'm still waiting to hear your opinion on what made you feel the Chinese re-wrote history. But maybe to you, ignore it enough times and it will go away.

Why did you start this thread by the way? Surely it is not because you actually give a damn or know anything about the Chinese education system.

If you do, feel free to tell me what the curriculum is like. In which grade do they start teaching history. If Wong Ching Chong, Kung Fu master 3rd level black belt finished his flied lice and Chow Mein and then got a 500 on the Chinese university entrance exam, is that a good thing or a bad thing?

You see, when you start a bullsh1t flamebait thread devoid of any logic, especially when you don't have anything tangible to back it up, don't be surprised to be insulted. It's simple really, because you don't have anything substantial for people to argue.

I was going to ignore this thread and let it die, for me but I had to respond to this.

So in other words every other country is a hypocrite and no one can criticize Japan on its historical revisionism. I agree that there is some level of moral relativism but this is moral relativism taken to absurdity.

We might as well say that neo-nazis are correct to march through minority neighborhoods and advocate violence since there are african-Americans who have advocated violence to whites before publically to whites like the Stokey Carmichael and the other Black Panthers. What you've stated here is in essence that any stand taken by anyone including yourself is inherently suspect as long as any bit of hypocrisy can be shown.

    Sishir.....

You are one of the people on this BBS that have great respect for an truly admire. Please understand that I'm only trying to foster debate and challenge ideas - nothing more. There is no right or wrong. I'm not saying it's right for the Japanese to whitewash their history, or that no one has a right to criticize them for it....just to always question and make sure....because I really believe that all things should be questioned. Life's an experiement, and like beauty, reality can be so much based on perception...in the eye of the beholder.

I hope you understand. Seriously, I really respect your posts and I hope you understand what I'm doing here.

Has Newyorker noticed that he "forgot" to answer your questions?

Seriously, I see only one person being smashed in this thread and he still sings "I won, I won, I won, I won, I won, I won, I won, I won, I won, I won, I won" to himself.

You all know who that person is, right? ;)
