It's Friday does that mean the Taylor signing was the big announcement? I thought he said it should be before Friday for a an announcement on his twitter account.

Yeah, I don't think that signing is even a minor thing much less a medium thing.

    Two trades:

Tracy McGrady and Joey Dorsey for Ray Allen and Kendrick Perkins

Carl Landry and Brent Barry for Tyrus Thomas

    Sign Chase to a contract

PG: Aaron Brooks | Kyle Lowry
SG: Ray Allen | Chase Budinger | Jermaine Taylor
SF: Trevor Ariza | Shane Battier | James White
PF: Luis Scola | Tyrus Thomas
CN: Kendrick Perkins | David Andersen | Chuck Hayes | Yao Ming*

With money committed to Pierce, KG and Sheed, Boston needs to clear some room to re-sign Rondo in the offseason. He's surely going to get a max contract and Boston needs to be prepared to match. Perkins is solid but Sheed will get the lions share of the minutes. Dorsey would fill in just as fine off the bench. Doc already has a love affair with TMac so he should fit right in whenever he's healthy. Boston could also use the insurance money to sign AI to construct a one year dream team featuring Rondo, AI, TMac, Pierce, KG and Sheed. The bottom line is that this move gives Celtics tons of flexibility to sign AI or pursue their Marquis Daniels trade without compromising their ability to re-sign Rondo later.

For us it makes sense because we get a great shooter to bring up Chase Budinger in his rookie year. Our shooting the past several years has been horrible, maybe a positive influence form a winner can help our team shoot better as a whole. Anyone who thinks were soft in the post is made to think twice with an enforcer like Kendrick Perkins. Perkins is what Dorsey wishes he could be. We would have Perkins just long enough to while Yao is out and should be a nice switching off with David Andersen.

I think its better to hold Ray Allen and Shane Battier till the trade deadline. We could even throw in Perkins if Andersen has developed as well as we had hoped or throw in Tyrus if hes not developing past fringe starter status. Its good to chop up McGrady's contract to smaller pieces because we dont have to take on any unwanted filler. Ray Allen, Battier, Tyrus Thomas and/or Perkins could help us make a strong push for Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire if either of their teams find themselves out of the playoff race.

I've read somewhere that Portland is looking to sign Freeland this coming season...makes me curious on the possibility of Pryzbilla and Rudy trade..just speculating..
