Williams obviously out. I personally have no use for Covington, I'd cut him, but Camby seems like a safer cut.
Covington to D-League seems legit. Especially when we are not sure where Parsons ends up in a year, we need some SF assets for low price.
I'm still looking for a Smith trade for an early to mid 2nd. But if not, Camby will get cut but we will save his number till after he heals and if there is an Asik trade. And Williams, who I honestly like but adding Brewer decreased his chances.
i'd keep all of the bigs since there is a good chance that donuts and jones get traded for veteran help. so that means smith and camby make the cut. williams and covington are out.
I had a nightmare last night that there was a phantom 18th player on the roster, forcing us to cut another young guy.
Williams and Camby. At least thats who I wish would be cut. What is Camby's contract and salary cap hit to us if we do cut him?
cut covington and williams. No matter what I think brewer should make it long before canaan or covington. Im still not clear on how many or how d league stuff works? If we can stash covington and canaan and still free up spots then you have to go ahead and keep camby for now and keep williams even. can we carry camby on IR somehow or something along those lines without it counting against?Cant we release camby at any time during season and add someone else to that 15 spot right? If anyone can clear this up I appreciate. im not clear on rules either so I just go by depth chart: 1)harden 2)howard 3)parsons 4)asik 5)lin 6)bev 7)garcia 8)casspi 9)brooks 10)dmo 11)smith 12)jones 13)brewer 14)canaan? 15)camby ***************** 16)covington 17)williams why do I feel like I am missing someone here?
12 Man Roster: Harden, Howard, Parsons, Lin, Asik, Beverly, Casspi, Garcia, Dmo, Brewer, Brooks, T.Jones/or G. Smith. Reserves: T. Jones or G. Smith, Covington, Cannon. Cuts: Camby, R. Williams.
I hope Rockets don't trade Asik, but if they do, they need a back up center for 10-13 minutes, they might be keeping Camby around. Do the suns want G. Smith for Marcus Morris? lol they are tanking hard.
I have lost hope on Greg Smith. The guy cant rebound or defend. It is very painful to watch him. Whatever he scores, he more than makes up for it on the other end for the opposing team. IMO, he is not going to get cut but he needs to go.
It makes him no different than Jones or DMo. The only true bigs who consistently rebound and defend on the team are Asik and Howard.
I am not very high on either of the three but there is still hope for the other two, and they bring more to the table even if the skills are raw. Greg Smith, not so much. He simply refuses to move his feet on defense and cant rebound worth a lick. It was very evident in last year's playoffs, and based on what I have seen so far in the pre-season, he hasnt worked on it over the off-season.
Camby's foot problems are gonna get him cut. Greg Smith a FA next year, still very raw -needs development but court-time limited = traded to Philly for a 2nd rounder so Morey can get value for the asset.
