Zone against a team that shoots a bunch of threes? That, and considering how we've had issues rebounding playing man? What could possibly go wrong?

I'll take my chances with a team shooting 34% from downtown against our current successful defensive alignment (LMA-59.3%).

    Man to man isn't working

Zone won't work since Aldridge shoot a lot of long 2s. He will be more open.

Funny thing is everyone thought Matthews was the one that was going to have career nights. I still don't understand how Clutchfans are so negative right now. We lost by 2 and the second game was still close...that was with no harden and LaMarcus Aldridge putting up two historic nights. I'll s*** my own **** if he does it again

Lol why wouldn't Rockets fans be negative. You loss two in a row at home. Thats terrible. Very few teams win a series when they lose their first two at home.

Anybody watch Draymond Green give Blake a couple hard fouls tonight? Changed the tenor of the game and sent GSW on a run. I would love to see us use DMo to foul LMA hard enough that he feels it.

the only option left is to let DMO do whack an LMA

I am disappointed. I am nervous. I have lost a little bit of confidence in the teams chances of winning. That being said I still believe and I will keep believing until I see the 4 under the Trailblazers. Not a moment sooner.

That is being positive in spite of all the negative feelings

I think the most realistic option would be to keep going at LMA and trying to get him in early foul trouble. Set plays where LMA is constantly forced to switch and defend. Also when one of our guards attacks we should try to draw the fouls on him. Tire his azz out.

Bench Jones and start Lin, this would accomplish that

D'Mo deserves a shot, I seem to remember him guarding LMA well in one of the regular season games

I like this but it needs to happen early and DMo needs to run his a$$ off to get him to spend some energy. If we can keep him from getting into a rhythym early maybe we can hold him to 25 points or so.

Double teaming him is not the answer.

I am glad someone agrees with me....

I think going into game 3, double off the bat, make sure Aldridge knows he isn't going to just shoot by himself....then pull back the double for a bit....go with twin towers when LMA and Lopez are in the game, run with the lineup of either Lin, Parons, Harden, Pat...any combo of the three....

personally don't like Lin being matched with Batum....Batum is too tall, negates any offensive input Lin can have on the game....

Not a fan of double teaming. LMA is tall and knows how to pass out. Can his man just consciously and with effort DENY him the ball? It won't be successful all the time, but if denied about half the time, I'm sure his points will be "just" high 20s.

Do you mean he's had big games against us all year? He only had one great scoring game out of the 4 we played against them. That was the second game in Portland. The other 3 games he scored ~25 points on ~25 shots. He was the typical inefficient Aldridge.

He's just hot guys. His midrange game will come back to earth. I am perfectly fine with the shots that Howard and Asik were letting him get.

    +1

The entire game I was rocking back and forth saying "he has to regress to the mean..he has to regress to the mean..he has to regress..."

Here's to hoping the law of averages works to our favor tonight.

As basketballholic pointed out, his midrange game sucked in game 1. It was destroying Jones and getting inside over and over that got him the 46. The second game he was red-hot from outside. So I don't think he's in some unflappable zone that can't be stopped. I say stay the course. Single coverage with Asik and Howard doing most of the 1v1 guarding.

Although if it's a tight game with 1:00 left send a freaking double!
