Pat Robertson should read the end of Job when God seriously reprimand's Job's friends for assuming they knew when he was or wasn't punishing someone.

There is a God because Pat Robertson exists to punish me.

he's been convicted of essentially allowing war crimes by israel's own investigation. so thats a fairly good reason to consider him a terrorist.

that being said i have the b*stard survives. he needs to get the kadima to form a coalition with labour. i dont want bibi running the country.

My condolences to Ms. Sharon and family. This is good news for peace in the Middle East. Maybe without the Sharon mystique as a faux "man of peace" as Bush called him, the Israelis can start to follow the UN Charter provisions against acquiring additoinal territory through war. This is a document that they have signed off on. There is only so much hipocrisy that anyone in the know can stand.

Sharon is bad as far as leaders go, but Israel has a potential for worse. There are also some people in Israel that have great ideas, for peace, that I hope can gain some momentum at this point.

Sharon ends up being kind of in the middle. I actually place him slightly better than the former Jeruselem mayor who is running things presently.

I do feel bad for his family, because that is a horrible thing to go through. It is incredibly tough.

Why does people even care who will succeed Sharon?

Not any single individual leader in this world can straight out this mess known as Israeli-Palestinian relationship. Nobody came even close before and nobody will. This conflict is about the two things that people have died for throughout the human history -- land and religion. And such a conflict simply can not be resolved in peace.

The difference between a rightwing and a leftwing new Israeli PM will only mean the difference between more or less suffering of the innocent (or not-so-innocent), more or less headache for Mr. Bush (or most likely his handlers), and more or less headline material for the likes of CNN. At the end, it has zero long term impact on resolving the conflict.

And it's a good thing that Sharon is dead (politically speaking). He's as much a terrorist as anybody in the world.

I would like to hear Christians defend their leader Pat Robertson about his remarks of divine retribution.

I am a Christian and Jesus Christ is my leader not Pat Robertson.

What he said is just wrong.

hi. my leader is Jesus Christ. Pat Robertson is a nut case in my book. he is constantly looking for war...for fighting...for animosity. i don't see Christ in that at all. i choose my Leader, instead.

maybe he is. he lives with his bitterness. he lives with his greed. he lives with his hate for others. his judgment for others. isn't that a helluva punishment for him?

hate carries with it its very own punishments...its very own hells.

    Mathew 7:15-16

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Then how do you account for the following? Obviously someone is picking the fruit.

Let's be realistic: Sharon is 77 (not young), and is rediculously obese for a man his age and height (he's only about 5'7", and yet 260 pounds! )

Seriously, a major stroke was just a matter of time, the guy was practically begging for it...

Didn't he just have treatment for an aneuryism and had been diagnosed with diabetes? I feel bad for him as a human but he was already pretty ill. I salute him for realizing near the end of his life the unsustainable position of having a few thousand Israelis trying to occupy millions of Palestinians. Its too bad he hadn't realized that earlier.
