I got a better fix. You can still get on with PSN go to your internet browser and delete your cookies, history, and cache i was playing gta iv with psn off and when i figured this out i was able to play it with PSN on and no more freezing
hey rc, you really like that folding at home stuff huh? its like everytime i see that you are logged in it says that you are running it lol its cool that people use folding at home to find cures but i dont think Stanford should be wearing out our systems because they need computer power, why dont they just buy a supercomputer? lol
Yeah, I suppose not. There were two other joke ones in the original list, I guess that one just got past me. I edited that out and put in oomp's PSN.
From the Folding@Home FAQ: It also doesn't seem to wear out PS3s too much from what I understand. I usually only use it when I'm downloading or doing something like that (I rarely leave it running just for the sake of running the application). I actually haven't used it all that often lately relative to how much I ran it before. I don't even have my PS3 hooked up right now to help me focus on studying for finals (yes, I'm that weak ). edit: In fact, I should probably log out of CF while I'm at it.
I just bought the system, and my GTAIV game updated the firmware so I could play it. I was at 2.17 or something like that , I can't remember.
haha yeah it sounded like thats what they were doing. yeah i know they aren't. I don't run it but i know alot of people do just for the hell of it and i have a friend who says it messed up his system and he had to format his hard drive.
yeah, that's the reason why I never run it it's basically equivalent to running your computer's CPU at 100% load 24/7...which shortens the lifespan of the chip. I mean it's fine for a while, but it certainly can't be good for it
Yeah, I wouldn't run it 24/7. Some people do that, including some of the Folding@Home staff, and they haven't had many issues (if any). Like I said, I just run it occasionally when I have the system on but I'm not directly using it. Guess it helps when it takes an hour or so to download a demo or some of the larger content.
I just got the game last night... my tag is: OldManBernie Are you guys still playing multiplayer? I tried it out last night, and some of the games I joined were pretty empty.
I'll add you tonight or this weekend and I'll look for you...I've been playing a lot lately...Sad thing is, I'd rather play this than see my girl...seriously...This wouldn't be the case if we were getting along, I think...
I love COD4 so I'll try to hit you up...I haven't played since i finished it so I know I'll be rusty... Hell, I'm only 20% complete with GTA4...
