Wow, OG Loc is hilarious. Good thing CJ is so accepting, I didn't know thugz would be cool about a member taking it in the rear. Maybe whatever happens in prison doesn't count or something.
I just had my first "long-time" playing session. (I don't know what else to call it). I played it for an hour or so about every day last week since I was busy with school and stuff, but I was ready to play it Saturday. I had to have played it for at least 12 hours straight. I was addicted to it in no time. I could have even gone on more, but I got angry because I accidently blew myself up with some explosives and I decided to quit and get some sleep. I'm just happy that I finally got out of Los Santos area. Yeah, the "training" missions do take up a pretty good chunk of the early part of the game. I was still finishing some up yesterday (although that probably means I'm slow more than anything). I still had stealth kills and gang territory taking/defending to learn about. And macalu was right about the Just Business mission. I think it was around then that I started ignoring everything else going on in my life and started thinking about only GTA. There are some pretty crazy missions around there that are a little more adrenaline pumping than driving people home. I can't remember for sure, but I don't think respect and wardrobe are connected. I think respect is just increased through missions and killling other gang members or taking their territories. (probably other stuff too). Sex appeal is affected by wardrobe though. All I did was buff my guy up and ran around without a shirt and my sex appeal was ok, probably better than what some of the stores offered that I felt like paying for. I got some more stuff to do today and school is tomorrow, so no more 12 hour straight sittings. Stupid real life interference!
lol. The game is awesome. I just hate having to race my a** back to one of my territories when it is being attacked. Gotta put the game down for a few days. Perhaps play some after the rockets game on tuesday.
Sex appeal is the clothes you wear and the car you drive. So if your driving a nice car, your sex appeal goes way up with the ladies. Respect is from the missions and turf war.
Let's start a "how have you got CJ dressed" thing: I'm still at the beginning, I've got him wearing the combat jacket, same clothes and shoes he starts with, yellow watch, a green back bandanna, and a green mask bandanna. He looks like a ghetto ninja.
I'm envious. I want the game bad but my kids are at an age now where they watch everything I do so my playing would be limited to an hour or 2 at night after they go to bed which is just not enough for a game like this.
Can't wait for my copy. Should have it in a few weeks. Got a question -- is the number of weapons you can carry at any one time the same as Vice City? I always thought it was a bit unrealistic to be carrying around a flame thrower, an M60, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, an M16 and a chainsaw all at once. I'm a stickler for those false advantages. Then again, in all the GTA game worlds, nobody has apparently invented door locks.
I finally unlocked San Fierro... its missions start right after the country missions. Man, those races damn near killed me... I hate racing games!
I'm about to put in some serious time today. The last mission I was stuck on is the one where you rob the national guard depot. Freaking Ryder can't protect himself. I guess I need to get out and help him when I notice his life dropping.
The Mission with the Russians is sweet..the first time you really get to unload on some folks and not have to worry about driving.
lol, yea! Right before I went in to shoot the switch, i hijacked another car and parked it right in front of the gate. I then jumped over, shot the switch, jumped back into the car I hijacked and then proceeded to run over any opposition I saw. Saved me from being shot as much as well as save ammo. But, I understand about Ryder. After every freaking box I put in the van, i had to get off the lift and shoot a couple of soldiers so they would kill him before I was done. I found a night club in the city and was able to dance to a few songs, ala DDR. It was pretty good. I'm just now grazing the missions that are not meant to train you, so I'm really starting to get into the game and enjoying it.
Did anyone else just start carjacking immediately? Screw the bicycle... I have a taxi and an ambulance in the garage already... and I haven't even completed a mission yet. (note: I do not condone carjacking...)
Man the game is insane. i shouldn't have bought it. You know you are addicted when you hear the name CJ being called out in your dreams, and also you are dreaming about GTA. I am still in the first city. The last level I completed was the Russian one. I have been taking over turf a lot , and that dang gf is so needy.
To continue the little progress report thing, I'm a little after you get the garage in San Fiero. I think the last mission I worked on was the RC plane mission for Zero, although I don't think I finished it yet. I was just about done with the mission, which involved shooting people with the RC plane, but just as I was finishing off one of the last targets, a car went into the line of fire, blew up, and caught me on fire. Just like every other time when something like that happens, I quit the game because I get too angry. I guess I should just keep it going but take out my anger on some prostitutes or something. I think I was dreaming about it a little bit as well. . FYI, while I'm not sure how the sales of GTA have been going, there are some numbers for the UK release. Check it out: Link Over half a million copies sold in only two days in the UK sounds pretty awesome. I'm wondering what the totals are for the week it has been out in the US combined with this number. Also, I've been checking out the ratings several sites have given GTA:SA and I noticed one gave it a 60/100. Who gave the game that rating? None other than everyone's favorite Christian game reviewing site known as Christ Centered Game Reviews. I checked out the site earlier and I had a pretty good time reading it. It turns out that the reviewer doesn't even have the game, either that or he just decided to make up the review anyways. The review was pulled but it looks like they put it in the forums. Check it out here
CJ's hairstyle, wardrobe, tatoos affects his sex appeal and respect stats. Different haircuts, clothing, tatoos raise sex appeal and respect percentages differently. I know cornrow and groove cut give the best percentage: 30;30. As for wardrobe, almost everything from Didier Sachs boosts sex appeal and respect big time.
I had a lot of trouble with that one as well. As long as you keep him in your map circle, you are okay, so you don't have to follow him too closely. Eventually, he got off the bike, and I killed him. So far, my favorite mission has been the ammo train, but I'm still not too far into the game.
