Just looked at that screenshot again...the shadows / lighting is a lot better on the PS4 version, ignoring the foliage difference which is pretty significant. You should...the GPU on the PS4 is a lot more powerful.
No, it's a completely different city with completely different characters. The GTA games are all very self contained. You can jump in on this game and assume you haven't missed anything.
I want to get GTAV again just because I think the online will be much better on the PS4 compared to the PS3 version. Will wait for the eventual price drop though(don't think I'll have to wait long) Was never a big Far Cry guy so I'll probably pass but Dragon Age has piqued my interest. This can all wait until after I beat AC: Unity though...when the game works it's actually pretty fun, lol
They do have Johnny from the lost and the dead, and Patrick Mcgreery from GTA IV in the game, they also reference Niko once when planning a bank robbery I think. But I agree it's really not necessary to play GTA IV first.
The dynamic range in the PS4 one is much larger. Also the details and color are far more realistic. Xbox One looks like crap compared to the PS4 one.
Yeah, that's a big enough difference for me to justify getting it on the other platform. Sorry Xbox friendssss.

Those were from neogaf, and no -- I don't believe they're last to new. Don't ever trust wccftech. That site sucks. With that said I've been looking at some video comparisons and they look remarkably similar. I haven't noticed much differences regarding the foliage.
