there will be no such a thing as missing the playoffs by 1/2 game in the end. you either trail by one full game or you have the same record of other team(s) and lose the tiebreaker.

plus it's really denver (#9) we'd watch for, technically speaking, not gsw; if you're talking about just making it to the playoffs. i know it's not set in stone yet, but chances are we're heading to the playoffs.

just wanted to point out the obvious.

3% is not that big of a difference. i think tmac just doesn't get the benefits of the calls when he does drive. as you saw tonight, kobe gets some of the calls tmac does not get the last 2 games despite getting fouled HARDER.

give tmac 8-9 fts a game and he'll get in a rhythm pretty easily even if he's a bad ft shooter b/c he knows the refs are often on his side when he drives.

both have so many moves that any shot they take is not really a bad shot to them. i bet you if you ask kobe, all 30 of his shots tonight were great shots. they simply didn't go in ;)

i never said tmac was better. in fact, they're not. but if you don't think kobe has the benefits of the calls (seeing how hard tmac has been fouled and ignored the past 3 games), then well, what can i say?

Why bother to argue with Kobe wankers? Every time lakers lost it will fault of the referees, odom, walton etc. It will never be Kobe's fault. To me, kobe and t-mac is on the same level, yes, kobe plays with more fire, that's it. Kobe may win more games because lakers always has the benefits calls. Both of them cant lift their team to 2nd round playoffs. Case closed!

Kobe leads the league in tech's for a reason, you really think Kobe with his "reputation" would get preferential treatment from the refs/league? please get a clue.

where did you get your statistics from? according to http://82games.com/FGSORT7.HTM, mcgrady shoots 44% on 2 point shots whereas bryant shoots 42%.

That's one thing. What I want to see is where he got the 90% vs <30% from by following it up by 'Kobe gets some of the calls that T-Mac doesn't'. Homer much? Kobe is better than T-Mac, the refs have absolutely nothing to do with it.

yeah well those statistics i was suspecting was his own estimate. kobe shoots more inside shots than mcgrady (25% vs 22%) and takes more shots than mcgrady (20.8 vs. 19.4). however, kobe is fouled on 15% of his shots whereas mcgrady is fouled on 10%. can the above statistics explain the disparity? not entirely, definitely, and kobe may just be better at drawing contact (a hypothesis I favor after watching them). but the claim that kobe receives calls on 90% of his drives, while t-mac 30%, is definitely overblown in light of the statistics.

Kobe leads the league in tech's because he whines after every call. Not only does he whine, but he berates the ref's. I can think of a few stars who whine as much, but not as many who berate them to that extent.

He's been terrible about that this year. That surprised me. I didn't realize he got on them that much.
