If this game somehow (and most likely will) affect the playoff seeding and who gets in.... oh man. I'm just glad that we're not on the receiving end of this blatant incompetence (for once). Refs should never be the deciding factor of the game, yet we continue to witness crap like this. Epic fail by the refs and the NBA.
Or what about how the Warriors battled back to get into overtime? Both teams fought hard. It should have been decided by the players NOT the refs.
check the replay when a youtube is made. It looks like SJax is still holding the ball when Delaney is running to make the call. What is the rule on a foul during the inbounds. A dead ball foul, right? check this out from nba.com So, is it "penalized" or "ignored." I'm confused.
No offense, but guess what? Warriors did the same! Did they not play hard? Did they not make their shots and force turnovers? And their last possession was robbed by the ineptitude of one referee that wanted to step in and decide the outcome of the game. Feel free to step inside Warriors' shoes for once. Anytime now.
I wasted an hour of life for that bullcrap ending? The game was televised on NBA-TV, so at least they'll have to squirm to hide the obvious controversy, though I know they'll gloss over it.
If I remember this correct, a foul before the ball is inbounded means 1 FT + possession of the ball. It's one of the more obscure rules of the NBA where it's not enforced with consistency. Like the clear-path breakaway foul. Then again, we're talking about consistency and referee in the same sentence. Color me stupid.
It should of been 2 freethrows and the ball for gsw because that foul should of been on fisher also it looked like kobe was holding Baron.
what's the difference b/t "live" and "alive"? it appears once jackson is holding the ball that the ball is "live" but it's not "alive" until he lets go of it. which one makes it "dead", i don't know. also, during the game, if you foul before the inbounds, it's 2 free throws, right? but in the last 2 minutes, does that whole hack-a-shaq off the ball foul rule take precedence and you get a free throw and the ball? i would think if they had called a foul on fisher they would've just pretended jackson was throwing it in and given monta 2 free throws and not invoked a free throw plus ball foul (if that's even the rule). as for "live" and "alive", i don't get the terminology. need better words if it's really the difference b/t jackson holding the ball and jackson throwing it in and releasing it.
For that matter, the whole sentence that starts with "Illegal contact..." is ridiculous. How can something be illegal but yet ignored. They need to omit or rewrite the use of "illegal" there.
true. the only problem is the ref's stupid and totally wrong call virtually invalidated or voided the great efforts and great plays by the lakers.
Apparently ESPN just showed the clip and toed the line calling foul on Ellis. Bend over for Stern... The NBA: where shiiiite happens.
I "loved" Fisher's acting though. After he pulled Ellis on top of him, he grabbed his knee like he blown out his ACL. Fisher is 200+ pounds, Ellis is 170 soaking wet. Who brought who to the floor?
I guess the word "live" is the key. Ball is "live" when SJax is handed the ball, thus the "ignore" sentence doesn't apply.
You can just shut it Orange County guy............. The Lakers are just lucky that Stephen Blackson did'nt have a shot to tie it.....
geez, ok. no need to attack me personally! It's amazing how upset you all get after a Warriors lose. that was funny. thanks
yes they DID hit shots but if tht dumb ref didnt call that cheap crap by fisher then the game would be totally different
