I went to UT and always rock the vince young jersey when attending games. Trying to look classy and sophisticated at football games is silly imo.
Who cares? I can tell you that guys who wear jersey on non-sporting event days really don't care what others think, especially if it is a non-work day. Individuals know what they need to wear in business situations, and if they want to dress however they wish outside of that, who are we to say anything about it? People that worry about what other people dress like have too much time on their hands, IMHO. Of course, the fact that I am spending a Saturday afternoon responding to dress-related posts on a sports message board doesn't say much for me, either.
Yes, if it was the 60s or before. Since the 70s it's been ok. Maybe the style expert guy from GQ would disagree, but he thinks wearing a searsucker suit with no socks is a good look.
Does anyone have the link to the website with pictures of people wearing jerseys of yester year today? Oh man I busted a gut laughing.
I wear my Rockets football jersey to every game I go to. I retired the rest of my jerseys to storage.
I have a Texans Jersey, Astros and Rockets one. They hang in my closet unless I go to a game. If I want to wear them I will.
grown men dont give a f what people on the internets say on a side note...I have an old francis pj that I wear when I ball, a jordan NC retro that I have never worn(purchased in 2001) and a Barcelona jersey that I wear to the movies or school.
I wear baseball jerseys with jeans . They don't look too bad, but football and basketball jerseys are another thing . Just my opinion .
I have enough Rockets jersey almost enough to wear a different jersey to every home game... I always wear a jersey to a game. As far as wearing it outside of games I sometimes wear it like once a month, or to the pool. If I go out of town, I'd wear one to represent my team/city. As for fashion sense, I don't care if I wear it in public, but do get the feeling that people have the preception that I'm a "gangsta"
That should be a crime in and of itself. Surely, you didn't press your khaki shorts did you? Or even better, you don't own any Khaki shorts, do you?
What's wrong with khaki shorts? They're the standard shorts option you find in pretty much any store. They are to summer what jeans are to winter. Surely you can't be an advocate of jorts...
Some companies have team jersey days when its acceptable to wear them. I wear jerseys/shirts of my footy/soccer teams and I'm 26. Now I refuse to buy any new jerseys because in soccer the teams both club and country treat the fans like dummies and bring out a new jersey every 1 or 2 years and its BS. I always rock my Dream and stevie franchise jerseys, especially here in Dallas.
Why are grown men obsessing over what other grown men should and shouldn't wear? Pretty ghey if you ask me.
A grown man can wear whatever the heck he wants. After years of having the wifey or S.O. play self anointed style expert not having you go out the house with "that" on, why should you feel subjected to live up to style code by fellow males? So what if it gives off the image that my idea of a good weekend is "a good barbecue with 3 TVS of NFL football", I'll be doing that smiling having a good time while other guys worry and headache over if their belts match their Sperry Topsiders. And no I dont even have any kind of jerseys.
I don't like how Jerseys come only in size fat and obese. Those things drape down to your ankles. I wear Texas shorts to the gym. That's all!
I stopped wearing jerseys last year but I wouldn't frown on anybody that wants to, why should I give a ****?
So, people think that wearing jerseys while not at a game is "gangsta"? I don't get it. I look at it just like other athletic apparel. I can't wear it to work, or to dinner, or a club. I can wear it to an outside family reunion, the pool, to play or watch sports, etc. Now if by grown you mean senior citizen then...yeah that's a little weird looking.
I have a lot of jerseys, but I rarely wear them, but as a man I don't care what another man wears I just hope he's wearing something. Men checking out other men wardrobe <<<<<< I swear dudes are checking out other dudes more then they do women nowadays.
Grown mean shouldn't care what other grown men wear. We are men. This thread is exactly what a women would make. I say wear what you want to wear, who cares what people think. Be your own man.
