    Here's how this thread would have looked 5 years ago on a Memphis board:

    Taking Thabeet is a negative in my view. To me, taking Thabeet's deal with $5+ million owed for 2011-12 is like taking on Jared Jeffries' contract in last year's deal. Yeah, OK, we'll take Thabeet for an expiring contract that can impact your team... now what are you actually going to give us?

    When I went to look up some of his stats, I noticed Hollinger's scouting on him...

    That's not the most promising description of a "project." Especially one for Battier? I'd rather take picks, even crappy ones. Now Mayo gets added and it gets interesting.

    I'm all for trading Shane, but the bigger issue to me is getting rid of Miller and his contract.

    Trade Battier for Thabeet? Yes please. Now I wouldn't throw in Lee for Mayo. Would Mayo be a back up for Martin? He wants to be a starter again, and he'll be in the exact same situation he was in Memphis.
