So we traded a #8 for battier and can now trade him for a #2? Y'all know i had to point that out
That's essentially what it will end up being if this goes through and that would be just flat out hilarious.
I don't like Mayo/Thabeet for Battier/Lee. Mayo has better offensive game than Lee, but Lee is still really solid with better defense. Not to mention zero character issues. I don't care how old Battier is, a 50 year old Battier would have more impact on the game than an absolute piece of garbage like Thabeet. I don't think people realize 7'3'' doesn't mean crap when you don't love the game and have the desire to improve. Thabeet does not deserve to wear a Rockets' uniform, EVER!
To me Lee is better right now and has an equal if not higher ceiling than Mayo, so there is no way i do that trade. Maybe if its only for battier. If we had to trade Bats i would try to do the right thing and send him to a contender. Maybe to the C's for a pick and avery bradley. If we are desperate to get a 7 fotter w/upside we should try to send brooks to Sac for Hassan Whiteside and a protected pick. But thats just how I feel
why do yall want more for battier?? hes old and we dont need him anymore. we are trying to go young and with battier gone it means twill will hopefully get playing time. to me getting thabeet for battier is a good deal.
Totally agree. Productive two way player on a favorable contract. Right now Lee, Patterson and Lowry are my only keepers. In order for me to want to give up Lee it would have to be a serious upgrade for the team.
Battier, along with Lee, are probably the two most attractive players to the numerous contenders out there. It might not be so much as Morey wants more than Thabeet, but rather Battier can be traded for a better package right now. So yes, if Memphis is the only team willing to deal, then Morey may accept it. But we don't know what other offers he has on the table.
Agreed Mayo and Thabeet are ideal players with upside Morey has stated that he wants. Sometimes a change of scenery is enough like Chauncey Billups and Michael Beasley.
