The Lakers have all their future first rounders, except for the 2011 one they send to NJ. I don't think any of those picks hold much value though. It's the Lakers after all.

I don't care how many draft picks the Lakers will give us. I'm not going to just hand them another championship with Battier. Then watch Dwight Howard say, "They won another ring and I could go there and make it another one".
Yea, normally could care less about the team we send a player to as long as we get good value in return BUT sending Battier to LA...EWWWWWW
The fact that the Rockets are still in the playoff hunt makes me think that he wont be traded anyways, but heck if they offer three picks, to me thats worth it if its clear they are out of the race. They most likely lose him at the end of the season anyways, why not get some rebuilding/trade pieces. I totally agree though that, as bad as the Rockets defense is now, it would get that much worse without Battier. Its a tough call to make if you are Morey. My guess is that he holds onto him with the hope that they can make the playoffs. I think the odds are 70/30 that he does not get dealt.
If that was the case you could of bought out Battier contract, signed my ass up, and with the money from the saving bought yourself a pick..
LOL I can see this happening ... The Shaq curse pt 2... But if you look at it from D. Howards perspective it is very "Tough" getting to the eastern finals. I mean that is a tall mountain to climb. But if he went to L.A. with Kobe / Gasol / Odom,..... Man they would be a lock at the Western Finals and favorite in the Finals itself... I don't mind it because we aren't going to have a championship team for at least 5-7 years..
What about a 2013 or 2014 first round (unprotected) pick? Its way in the future, but if the Lakers decline and miss out on Dwight Howard or CP3 in 2012 (yes its a gamble) then those could be quality picks.
If we get a #1, its already better than the Celtic offer in that their #1 will be higher than the Celtics.
I agree, if we can get a 1st round pick with Thabeet I like the deal. Yes, he is a project and needs work, but the future 1st rounder gives us insurance in case he doesn't work out. If all we need him to do is patrol the paint and block/alter shots I think he can do that immediately (Chuck can help him with that). He and Hill would need to spend all summer working out together with CD and/or Dream on post moves.
Not is its a 2013 or 2014 pick necessarily. If you throw in the Turkish Center then we have something.
forget the pick and unload more Rox for Mayo/Henry/Sam Young/etc................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll obviously there's a chance. I just think there are better, 'safer' options out there. Besides the Lakers is the last place I would want Battier get traded to.
Yes! Lets get our young center! BTW Hasheem Thabeet played his high school basketball here in Houston, so there are some hometown roots here for Thabeet. Could force him to play harder to stay here longterm. But hopefully this isn't the only trade that goes down for the rockets.
Well, if a deal goes down, i hope the organization has the Dream's number on speed-dial, cause this kid needs a lot of work.
