VC was a pretty major contributor for that team. With the loss of Calderon + VC, and possibly loss of Parsons, they're not making the playoffs over the Warriors, Suns, or Grizz, even with Tyson. Pelicans might be better. This is a reason Houston may want to consider matching the offer sheet. My god the West is stacked.
He'll be 40 when the contract is over..pretty surprised at how well VC has adapted and reinvented himself, he didn't become a washed up superstar like marbury/iverson/tmac
We now have a legit reason to match Parsons. And while we are at it, steal Marion. He will be a better PF than any on our squad last year. And after its all wrapped up, call Cuban and ask him if he is interested in trading Dirk since we need a PF off the bench. And no he cannot have Troy Daniels because we will be matching him as well after Cavaliers offer him a max contract.
Come on Dirk, it' time to give Cuban the, "Its not you, it's me", line. I know it never works, but this is the most appropriate time for it.
Put yourself in Vince's shoes. You've logged 1,000 games and still have a career average over 20 ppg, and here comes Parson's getting a Max deal at your position. I know Vince wasn't starting, but getting a pay cut after his season last year and watching his money go to a pretty boy who doesn't deserve it? Yeah, he made the right call in bolting and not even waiting to see if we match Parsons. Good for Vince, and yes, the wound to the Mavs is a sweet one to watch from our end of things.
Great signing. Memphis lacked someone who could create their own offense off the bench. Vince Carter is not getting enough credit for how gracefully he's aged upon an injury-riddled career. Both Vince and Grant Hill.
I kept thinking "can't believe Carter is ending his career in Canada. Full circle." Then remembered... :/ Big Country
