Oklahoma City’s rookie Steven Adams is one of those players that gets under opponents’ skin — he’s physical on the edge of dirty and all season long opponents have wanted to punch him.

In Game 6 Thursday night Memphis’ Zach Randolph did. Now he is going to miss Game 7 Saturday.

The league came down Friday announcing the suspension of Zach Randolph for Game 7.

Combine that loss with Grizzlies’ point guard Mike Conley playing with a strained hamstring that will slow him, and suddenly the Oklahoma City Thunder at home look close to invincible.

This was also the right call from the league — you can’t punch a guy in the face. Yes, it was an “NBA punch” that would get Z-Bo laughed out of any good hockey fight, but it is a punch nonetheless. The league could not let it slide.

The winner of the Grizzlies/Thunder Game 7 will face the winner of the Clippers/Warriors Game 7 in the second round.

Poor grizzlies getting snow jobbed by nba. Total garbage to have a scrub like adams get him out on baiting randolph. Didn't look that bad to me but hey thunder can't be eliminated in 1st round. That would be bad for NBA revenue.

dem refs and dat league. rockets should be in 2nd round already but apparently rockets have to win 6 games to advance.

Anyway feel bad for grizz and hope they overcome this rigging.

It befuddles me how it's always guys like Blake Griffin and Steven Adams that manage to get into these kinds of scuffles over and over again. Could it be that maybe, just maybe, it's *their* fault and more scrutiny should be direct *their* way during the games?

The NBA needs to ensure a victory for one of its valued teams. Not surprising that they used such a minor incident to pave the way for OKC.

Word. That was more like a shove. Should have been broken up, called a T, and that be that.

    Pussification of the league continues.

My 2 year old son hit me in the face harder than that...should I suspend him from watching today's game & give him no dessert tonight?

LMA hit Lin in the head harder than that a few games ago...smh...but Z-Bo fell for the Bait.

I agree with JVG, that was no punch, but rather a shove. Randolph should have known better and it was a stupid overreaction, BUT the punishment far outweigh the crime in this instance.

I like how JVG just came out and said they turned that game from must see TV to just giving OKC the victory. Think that was a terrible handout for Zbo. Lets see if Grizzlies can come out a get the win. Still hoping.
