He was. He didn't really want to do interviews. He actually told a couple of them, "Sorry, I'm with the fans now."
A couple of you asked about McGowan. She literally stood 6 inches from me facing the other direction for photos. She had a backless dress and while she is just as white in person as she looks on screen (she's like freaking alabaster), she was WAY WAY too thin. You could literally see her rib cage and her hands were skeleton like. Yikes. Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
Post a link to some of her shots....just curious. What type of lenses do you/her have? I keep wanting to get some more but can't quite stomach some of those price-tags. And I've heard both sides of the story: (A) Only by top-notch lenses, though more expensive, they're worth it, and (B) Top-notch lenses are better, but not enough to justify to higher prices...
http://flickr.com/photos/slightclutter/ She shoots Canon and utilizes a variety of lenses. She tends to rent when she has weddings or things like that, but she's about to buy a couple new lenses so she doesn't have to bother renting. She has great gear. For these photos, I used my kit lens because I knew I would need a wide angle AND a zoom. I have a 70-300 and a 50mm 1.8. I'm waiting on an 18-200 that's on backorder and I really want to get a couple of wide angle zooms - 10-24, maybe a better 18-70. I love wide angles. To be honest, great lenses alone don't produce great photos. They help, but the most important thing is the person behind the lens. I've seen bad photographers take HORRID shots with $2000 lenses and great photographers take AMAZING shots with point-and-shoot digitals.
Jeff did you send your pictures to Mary Winstead's fan site? They have it already over there. Mary has just officially topped Jessica Alba on my hottest girl list... That's beauty fellas
I didn't see that. No credit either. Ugh. I guess I should expect it, but it pisses me off. I don't care about the money, but it would be nice to get the photo credit. It's why I have the Creative Commons license on all my images. I emailed them. Thanks for the head's up.
man those are amazing photos. you can just look at them forever. there is so much depth to the pictures. very very cool stuff.
Jeff, did you got to any SXSW premieres? Us artistic and superior clutchfans should notify each other about stuff like this. That's like Otis Thorpe and Carl Herrera not spotting each other at a party. I went to the Elvis and Annabelle premiere. I was at Sin City also. But I missed this one
No, I don't usually go to SXSW except for the band stuff and I haven't done that in a long time. This was a TOTAL spur of the moment thing. The guy who rode up with me was really interesting. He works for HISD, but on the side he is a documentary filmmaker. He made a documentary about African American rock musicians called Electric Purgatory. He interviewed Living Colour, Kings X, Fishbone, Tribe Called Quest and a bunch of others. Pretty interesting stuff. http://www.electricpurgatory.com
I was going to say girlfriend, but it was a year ago (or so) that I saw her picture of the two of you all giddy and all. Glad to hear you are still together. Yes she is truly a phenomenal photographer...artist indeed. Next time she exhibits her work, be sure to give us the heads up.
man seeing stuff like this Jeff makes me want to get in photography more. awesome stuff. anyone have a good link for digital vs. film i pretty much have to go digital but i would like to understand all the pros and cons.
