I agree, a player hasn't taken the league by storm in this way in his first year for a while. He's arguably the most exciting player in the league right now. Loyal Clippers fans have went through hell over the years, and I'm kind of happy the diehards over there finally get a superstar and potential respectability and winning in the future. (hopefully except against us)
If the season started from Dec on, the Clippers would almost certainly make the playoffs. They aren't really missing any pieces to prevent them from being a low-seed (even their rookie SF, Aminu, has a lot of potential). The main problem with the Clippers isn't even ownership or management; it's injuries. They have consistently the most or one of the most injured teams in the NBA since the last time they made the playoffs in '06. This is partly bad luck, but I suspect also due to an incompetent medical staff that misdiagnoses players all the time. When Odom was here he was out for 1.5 years due to a sprained ankle. Now Kaman has been out for months with the same thing. It's just absurd.
What the hell are the two refs looking at when Andre Miller runs full speed cross court into Blake Griffin? How do they not see that? That is beyond terrible officiating.
look, he's a rook, but offensively he's the combination of tim duncan and amare stoudamire. he is unstoppable. i really hope he stays healthy because he is destined for greatness.
That's interesting thanks, glad to have a Clippers fan here to share with us. I know the organization has a toxic reputation, but if they resign Gordon and Blake, these guys might just will them to prominence regardless (barring injury of course, like you mentioned). I saw Aminu, that SF you guys drafted as well, has he been hurt? He might be the missing piece (I think the defense perhaps could improve a little too).
Yea I agree. Blake wasn't doing anything that Dwight Howard doesn't do regularly on the offensive end. People should watch how much DHo pushes people around before they complain. It's simply a "Rookie" thing.
I cant believe he is that good. He simply owns and dominates. No wonder he gets under their skin so much. I love how he doesnt retaliate and lets his game do all the talking instead. Thats much more harder to swallow for the opposition. I love what Davis is doing for him stepping up like that. Keep it up guys-way to go!!!
22 ppg, 13 rpg... If the Clippers make a run and somehow snag a playoff seed, forget ROY, Griffin's going for MVP!
They have won 10 of the last 14 games and have all ready beaten the Spurs, Heat and the Lakers this season through sheer talent, and not luck.. Not to mention they are only 5' 1/2 games back of the 8th spot, despite starting the season at 5-21... I'm not saying his MVP, but if this trend continues his name will have to be in the talk for the award..
Andre Miller was standing under the basket trying to get a rebound. He deserves to be pushed. If he is going to fight for the boards then he has to take the punishment from the bigs. a PG shouldnt be battling for a rebound under the basket. I don't see anything wrong with what Griffin did (clearing the paint and maintaining position). Andre Miller however running full speed at his blindside is a bit childish and dangerous imo.
