I don't know if it's true, but the NJ message board was full of Nets fans saying that Griffin told the Nets that he didn't want to play there after they picked him, a la Stevie Wonder. And they were talking about it like it's a known fact, though that was the first I'd heard of it...anyone know the score? If it's true, then the Rocks pulled off another carrion coup by taking advantage of another team's bad situation to get a potential superstar at bargain price. Oh, and yeah, I know Francis told Van BEFORE the draft, but the poiunt's the same. ------------------
I don't think so...he is from NJ and in his interview after going to the Nets seemed pretty happy... Having said that, their HAS to be something more to it. Why wouldn't NJ have offloaded some of their dead weight contracts with this pick? Still...who cares! ------------------
Perhaps they seek an excuse for the Nets front office incompetence. I might do the same thing in their situation, but I cheer for a team with a kick-ass front office. In the NBA, you're either a ****er, or a ****ee. We're the King ****ers right now. ------------------
The Rockets picked Griffin. As soon as Vancouver made their sixth pick, the trade went down. It had nothing to do with where he did or did not want to play. Sounds like sour grapes! ------------------
Well, I guess I could be wrong. According to Clutch (in another thread), the Nets picked him knowing the Rockets would be interested. I stand corrected. ------------------
RudyT and CD shall be known as the KING Draft FuwKers of the NBA. ------------------ Go Rockets!!! SS
Sounds like sour grapes to me. Griffin did no such thing. ------------------ Anger is a weed. Hate is a tree.
