Gregg Popovich - a communist, a spy, a deep mole? Let's examine some facts.

Father was Serbian, Mother was Croatian. Both areas part of former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. A former Communist, Marxist-Lenin, Socialist, Single Party, Republic led by authoritarian dictator Josip Broz Tito.

    Communist sympathizer roots?

Joined and graduated from Air Force Academy with a BS in Soviet Studies. Also attended Air Force Academy “Spy School” where he learn intelligence gathering among other things. Also considered joining CIA but never did, “officially.” Played basketball for Air Force Academy, named captain Sr. year.

    Motive for joining Air Force?

Served 5 years Active Duty, with the US Air Force. Did several tours in Eastern Europe and Soviet Union with US Air Force Basketball Team. Becomes a coach for Air Force. After many years coaching college ranks, eventually becomes an assistant with Spurs under Larry Brown.

Access to Eastern Europe and Soviet Russia presented an opportunity?

Was an assistant coach to Larry Brown with USA Basketball team bronze medal winner in 2004 Athens Olympics. One of the worst failures in history of USA Basketball.

    Sabotage?

Becomes General Manager for NBA Spurs, names himself coach. Goes on to win multiple championships and overall great success. In the process develops a reputation for doing whatever he wants, his style, including challenging NBA Commissioner David Stern with issues like resting healthy marquee players. As head coach and President of Basketball Operations. He calls all the shots. Players buy into his system or they’re out.

Displays Authoritative Totalitarian Dictator behavior. Trying to or already has implemented Dictatorship of the proletariat?

Constructs a system with no “stars.” Players take major paycuts. Plays the “Pop” way which includes no “I” in the equation. Absolutely no individual pursuit or achievement. The Pop way demands that the whole is greater than the sum of parts.

    Coaching includes communist principles?

Despite all his success, many former players and coaches he worked with often say basketball is secondary for Pop. Much more interested in world politics, elections, governments, etc...

    Cover blown?

Considering all of the evidence, it is clear that Pop is a Red Commie b*stard. The real question is,

    a. was/is he a US spy who spied on the Soviet Union under cover through a basketball program but happen to fall in love with Communism in the process?

    –OR-

    b. was/is a Soviet mole, who only became a US Spy to gather intelligence for the Soviet Union using a basketball program as deep non-official cover?
