I saw the play when he got hurt, I was surprised that there was even a chance he would come back this year. Hopefully he comes back next year. Seems to be a Malcolm Floyd type. We just had to make this move for the playoffs

Ive been wondering the same thing. I think Greg Smith is a pretty solid player, both offensively and defensively. I guess there is no room for him with Howard and asik?

    His knee is very questionable.

And yep, With Asik and Dwight. Not much playing time for him here.

He made strides the last two seasons but only played 11 games or so.
    Wasn't going to extend.

Smith was solid last season, it's a shame he had knee issues. That injury in New York was nasty.

I think he'd be playing over DMo of he was healthy.

I really liked Smith on offense. The emergence of Jones and D. Mo kind of made him expendable though. I really would have liked to see what he could have done playing at hi natural PF position rather than backup C. Good luck Greg.

He wasn't coming back this season, and he was going to be a free agent, anyway.

He'll be back in the NBA

Good hands, excellent in the pnr, ferocious finisher

He was the best rollman on the Rockets next to Dwight

I liked this guy a lot. I hope this is just a technicality and that he is back next season healthy and ready to go. What was the rule again? How long after waiving a player can you sign him again?

Greg "Gummy Bear" Smith will be missed.
Thanks for being a consummate professional.

Will miss his gray colored suit that he wore game in game out while receiving DNP's because of injury.
