My guess is Smith was just excited about his game lol. I don't think he talked like that during his breakout game.

Anyway the kid's growing on me, I think he could turn out to be something special.

Such a lighthearted fellow, love the quiet, humble centers who can throw it down. Though he's not exactly quiet when he talks, just rambling like the world is about to end :)

Yes! He has the frame to add 15-20 lbs. of muscle as well. Next summer he needs to workout with Hakeem on more of a post game. I can a few all star games a few years down the road

I would say yes. He's the best undrafted D-league product so far. Good size, athletic, good attitude. Very likely will have a decent career in NBA.

Best part of Greg Smith's emergence is that it allows the Rockets to play at a faster pace. Earlier in the season, the pace would slow down because Asik would be exhausted and the offense would have to wait for him to come down court. Now Asik is getting less minutes, but he has been just as productive.

He has deceptive speed for his size. Once he starts showing up on other teams scouting reports it won't be so easy for him.

I was just curious how a 21 year old Greg Smith compared to last years version of Omer Asik as a reserve for the Bulls.

    Code:
    	        [b]MIN	FGM-A	FG%	FTM-A	FT%	OR	DR	REB	AST	BLK	STL	PF	TO	PTS[/b]
    [b]Greg Smith[/b]	14.5	2.8-4.3	0.644	1.8-2.3	0.755	1.8	2.5	4.3	0.4	0.8	0.3	2.3	0.4	7.3

    [b]Omer Asik[/b]	14.7	1.2-2.4	0.506	0.7-1.6	0.456	1.9	3.4	5.3	0.5	1	0.5	1.8	1	3.1

At this point in the season its very comparable. Their minutes are almost the exact same, Asik is clearly the better rebounder and defender but Smith is the superior scorer.

I wonder how DM views Greg Smith if he views him kind of the same way that LAL viewed Bynum before he turned into a beast.
