I still think if Oden is out they will try to exploit Yao's weakness on the defensive end just a little.

The Blazers probably realize that Aldridge will guard Yao better than Oden can so to save face said he had an illness.

They will play small. They've done it in the regular season and they've been pretty successfl with outlaw at the 4 and aldridge at the 5. They also play Frye and aldridge together.

McMillan has played Aldridge on Yao with Przybilla guarding Scola.

I'm talking about in terms of Yao being a defender not him on the offensive end.

I'm not sure which is better for the rockets but I'd hope Oden plays so we have another inferior center teabagged by the Yaoster.

I like Oden so hopefully we handle the whippersnapper but he has a decent series. The more emphasis on the post game these days the better. Our whole existence is predicated on post play so the half court game is where its at.

Just think how scary Portland would be if they would have taken Durant over Oden. Im glad they made that mistake. That guy has bust written all over him.

This is probably psychological warfare to screw with our preparation of the Yao offense. Throwing a new and unpredicted defense at us, as it were

when you have lived as long as he has (at least 200 years) you compile a number of injuries.

Blazers' Oden misses practice, will be game-time decision

    Posted Apr 17 2009 7:45PM

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Trail Blazers center Greg Oden missed practice Friday, a day before Portland faces the Houston Rockets in their playoff opener.

The 7-foot center is listed as probable and will be a game-time decision.

Oden, the top pick in the 2007 draft, missed what would have been his rookie season after microfracfture surgery on his right knee.

He missed six games to start this season after he injured his right foot in the opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.

A bone chip in his left knee following a collision during a game at Golden State kept him out of the All-Star 2009's Rookie Challenge and the next 15 games.

If Oden does not play, Pryzbilla will be so screwed.

A team needs two centers; their starting 5, and a backup 5. The backup 5 does most of the fronting/tiring out of Yao.
