Cousins seems to rub off on me in a wrong way. There is just something about him that oozes cockiness, and that the good kind.

He seems to be immature, especially during interviews. Dude really needs some good PR.

He's kinda overweight, and draws awful similarities with Z-Bo. But hopefully, with the right kind of enviroment, he will gain maturity and be humble.

That's why I think he is better suited to be drafted to a team that has a strong veteren presence in the lockerroom such as the Rockets with Sikma, Hayes, Scola, and Yao rather than a young team such as the Kings or Wolves were their is practically no leadership.

You know Greg Monroe is a Rick Adelman wet dream.

A few problems I've seen with Monroe - he is a below average free throw shooter, and when he is in a physical situation right around the basket, he seems to have trouble finishing. That combination means a lot of good missed scoring opportunities.

Right now he is an inside/outside guy. I think he becomes much more of a mostly outside guy at the next level.

With respect, when you have "oozes" and "****" juxtaposed like that, there is no "good kind". And let's not even mention the "rub off on me" but....oh, wait, just did.

i can envision a scenario where the rockets trade up maybe 4 or 5 spots by giving up one of the knicks picks to get monroe. as a hoya myself, im praying for it to happen

he's perfect for this system, both adelman and JTIII owe a lot to pete carrill who influenced both their offenses. the hoyas and the rockets run very similar systems, both predicated on the need for a passing big man. monroe is by far the best passing big man in the nation, and arguably the best passer period. he has an assortment of moves on the low block and can hit a jumper from almost anywhere inside the 3pt line.

he's mediocre from the line but can provide the length and agility down low that the rockets desperately need. and most of all, he's a very smart unselfish player, both characteristics that would allow him to fit in nicely with who we've got already.

i'm high on bosh, but i think monroe would be just as good for our team, a young big man who could not only start at PF but back up yao at C. plus he'd be much cheaper, allowing us to still go out and get a pretty good free agent.

He is terribly lacking in athleticism. He has a great feel for the game, but his lack of athleticism is going to truly limit his NBA ceiling.

Based on what I saw on his highlight vids on youtube, he doesn't have enough athleticism to be able to finish down low in the NBA at a high clip. That is based only on videos of him, tonight I'm going to MSG to watch the Big East tourney semifinals, I'll hopefully have a better idea of what he can do after that.

that's ridiculous. one of his most unique attributes is his athleticism. i dont exclusively associate athleticism with dwight howard-like hops and strength. greg monroe's athleticism is different: he's unbelievably fast for a 6-11 guy and has some of the quickest feet amongst big men this year. his athleticism is exhibited through his lethal variety of moves, which are even more difficult to stop when you take into account his high basketball IQ.

plus, i agree that with regard to big men, athleticism can be overrated. his passing skills, good field goal percentage, and basketball smarts make up for any lack of athleticism.

This guy is out there guarding point guards and 2 guards in the Marquette game. He is the real deal folds. I would to see him in a Rockets uniform as a backup C or potential Yao replacement.

The rockets MUST make it a PRIORITY to get Greg Monroe. Dude can PASS VERY WELL, RUN THE FLOOR, LEAD A FAST BREAK, HAS GREAT RANGE even to the 3 POINT LINE and a GOOD REBOUNDER. As of right now he has 21 pts 8-13 FG 1-1 3PT 11 RBS 2 BLKS n 5 assists. He was 3 assists shy from a triple double last night against #1 Syracuse. He's the complete package for a big man.

    Morey Get It Done!!!!!!!

He may be all these things, but Monroe is a PF, not a center. From the look of it now, Jordan Hill holds just as much promise and Hill already is a Rocket. I'm hoping we snag Morey's highest rated true center: Aldrich, Cousins, Alabi, Whiteside or whomever.

At the age of 19 Monroe is 6'11 245-250. He can add 10 to 20 lbs to play center.
