I was stuck watching the gamecast, but from all the fumbles and whatnot it seems like UT dodged more bullets than Neo today.
Well too bad there was no upset in this game. Hope there is in another game today. As for the game, UT dodged quite a few bullets today, and lucked out with that fumble. Good Game.
I still feel like I'm gonna vomit. Haven't been that nervous since last January. Walk on kickers pwn.
Uh, no. We left seven points on the table via special teams. Nebraska wouldn't have taken the lead on that halfback pass if our kicker does his job. We got lucky(on the ross fumble and a fumble by mccoy and cosby), but if our kicker does his job, Nebraska is still trailing after the halfback pass td and we have the ball with 4:54 left.
It was funny when Mack politely corrected Lisa Salters at half time when she said "you guys were lucky to get the ball back" and he was like "no we created the turnover".
One of the fumbles was caused by UT so I don't consider that to be luck. The other two recoveries were the result of attentive lineman/hustle. I admit those may fall into the "luck" category but they also fall into the playing football category.
You said we dodged more bullets than nebraska. I'm telling you it would have never been in said position if our kicker does his job. Thus, the statement isn't right. Nebraska didn't leave seven points on the table on a blocked XP and two 30 yard fg's. Heck, he should have at least made the 31 yarder and the xp and it's 23-21 us with the ball and 4:54 remaining. And playcalling changes, etc. I also said we got lucky, because we forced a fumble to give us a chance, and recovered two fumbles on our winning drive. But nebraska isn't on the verge of winning if our kicker makes an XP and one of two 30-39 yard fg's.
Saw the first half. UT's offense looked pathetic except for the TD pass. UT isn't close to Ohio State or Michigan right now. The play calling was so bland in the first half I didn't bother tuning back in until 2 1/2 minutes were left, right before the lucky fumble.
Well like I said, I was forced to watch the game on gamecast. So I saw "fumble" and kept seeing people type things like "whew!" and "thank god we got that one back" so one could assume a lucky bounce. Regardless, with the ball ending up on the turf so much in crunch time.. god's be praised a Husker didn't fall on any of em.
I don't need to look at fumble recoveries to know that there was a divine presence on Texas' side today.
That team is just imploding and falling apart. Coker lost his team and now its just a madhouse there. They seriously better clean up shop or bring back Butch Davis. At least Davis recruits like no one else and would win so we'd all ignore the idiocy of Miami players but now that they're losing AND being stupid, its headline news.
You have to factor in the weather. In 2 of the 4 quarters TX has to play against a 20mph wind, I think its pretty hard to pass downfield in such conditions, especially when Colt doesnt have the biggest arm in world.
considering the weather, texas's offense wasn't conservative today. greg davis got that bad rep with chris simms. there is a reason for that.
