No wonder I couldn't find it.

Plus it was some abstract miniature version of what I posted. Ah, well, lock it up!

What this means is... By the time Yao is 80, Van Gundy's system might be worth a crap.

Greg said Yao was at best a 18/10 guy a year ago. I dont take what he had to say seriously.

hes is right on one aspect...."if the players dont start winning they will stop believing"

i mean half the board has already stopped thinking we are a team that everythought would be contenders THIS YEAR....still think we got a shot...and a huge win streak coming,,,,,

He's not saying anything we don't know already. The fact is Yao is not the player everyone expected... yet.
Being labeled the next Rik Smits isn't a bad thing, he just wasn't a domiant center that we want Yao to be.

I have accepted that the Rockets won't contend this season. It's so sad because I was excited at the opportunity that Motumbo would finally get a ring.:(

Considering that Yao's numbers this year are 17 and 8, I think I too would agree that Anthony doesn't know what he's talking about. . .

What the hell is the dominant center should be, 25 point and 10 rebound a night, is yao get those number in many games, when yao's elbow is healed, get him 35 touch and 20 shoot attemp a night, see what number he will post up.

.........SO is this what Analyst do? I think I could say alot of stuff that everyone in Houston knows already, but I don't get paid for that.

    The team must:

Get a new head coach, but with the talent pool pretty shallow, we shouldn't rush unless we get some confirmation from George Karl or Phil Jackson.

Not wait for cheap player in the offseason in the hope they will play extremely well...Rockets took a big gamble by not signing one of those big time free agent point guards and we have suffered from a player at the point that cannot create.

    CUT/ SLASH/REBOUND...BETTER

QUIT BORING THE FANS AT THE GAME AND AT THE ARENA WITH THIS CONSERVATIVE BULLCRAP.

who would have thought Anthony could use words with more than two syllables in them, he certainly can't when he commentates or is on those spoating panels at half times of games, boy must have a good editor

It's easy for me to say because I don't live in Houston, but I'd rather have an entertaining competitive team than a boring championship team.

My vicarious life through the Rockets is very short term. Championships don't really make my life better in any significant way, but a fun team to watch is short-term uplifting.

Actually, Anthony is an impressive speaker and has an extensive vocabulary. You wouldn't know it from his commentary work, but I learned he was a pretty bright guy when he was a guest on the Jim Lehrer Hour to talk about the Detroit player-fan fight. During the interview, the guy was just letting the polysyballic words fly and actually had some insightful things to say. I used to think he was an idiot. Now I wonder if he just dumbs it down for TV.

Anthony continuously contradicts himself - that is not a sign of intelligence. First he says Yao can be good but not great. Tonight, he calls Yao mediocre.

How can you be both good and mediocre?

And what is mediocrity? I wouldn't describe 18 and 10 as mediocre.

Mediocre players do not get double teamed. Mediocre players do not have the potential to dominate a game. Yao has that potential and has dominated but is inconsistent.

My biggest pet peeve is when people discuss why Yao at 7'5 can't do this or that. There has never been a 7'5 player that has dominated - Bradley, Bol, Muhresan, Chuck Nevitt. Most 7'5 players are either too top heavy, lack stamina, strength, and /or quickness. The best big men have never been the tallest big men. They are usually tall with great athleticism which Yao lacks.

Yao is suffereing from overexposure backlash. His game does not warrant the media attention, numerous commercials, and the subject of a book in his 3rd NBA season. He's more famous because of who he is than because of his game - and that irks people.

I don't think Anthony is an idiot so much as he just hs something personal against Yao Ming. I think that is why is thoughts on Yao Ming are about as consistent as Yao Ming's game. Anyway, if you want signs of intelligence from Anthony, see him in other contexts.
