I think out of those players 3 shouldn't have been invited. Robin Lopez- he only there because his brothers there Anthony Randolph & DeAndre Jordan - they are both falling out of the lottery
In 2007 all 16 invitees were chosen in the top 16. In 2006 Saer Sene was the surprise lottery pick with Marcus Williams being the only invitee falling out of the top 16.
Interesting to say the least. If GSW doesn't pick him up, I think there's a decent probability of Greene falling down to the late teens and early twenties. Only Houston and Orlando are truly looking for wings, w/ the possibility of New Jersey and Cleveland.
You want him to fall where? Out of the draft. I surely don't want him in Houston. No offense if you read this professorjay.
Orlando are supposedly enamored with Courtney Lee. If Greene does fall out of the top 16... Raptors could be candidates for packaging their pick to dump TJ Ford. There is that rumor for O'Neal but IMO that just sounds like a bad deal for Toronto. Jackson + Head/Francis + 25th for TJ Ford + 17th pick? Otherwise with a wait and see approach at 25. One of these players could be who the Rockets pick there: Donte Greene Nicolas Batum Serge Ibaka Bill Walker Richard Hendrix Nathan Jawai
CDR is probably another name to add to the list but this draft is meant to be big-heavy also international players tend to fall. So I don't think he'll be there at 25. http://www.nbadraft.net/ http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2008/06/feeling_a_draft_what_the_rocke.html http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Word-on-the-Street-Rounding-Up-2940/
That's great news on both accounts -- scare enough teams into not taking him, then nab him at 25. I was starting to really target him, but the heart scare kinda knocked me off the trail a bit. I assume there are no contract buyouts involved and he's definitely coming over?
Check out his draftexpress.com profile and watch the YouTube interview posted there. I watched it a couple of days ago and I believe he says the exact phrase, "No way I go back to France."
From DraftExpress As a result of my continuous efforts to obtain the latest inside information, it is now this writer’s opinion that DeAndre Jordan has substantially impressed teams with how well he has presented himself in private workouts (with Sacramento and Phoenix) and his stock is on the rise! I thought he was gonna slip out of the lottery, I guess hes back in it now.
I think all the talk about DeAndre falling was all smoke and mirrors. NBA teams put a premium on 7-footers, especially ones with athleticism. The kid has a lot of potential and thats enough to warrant a pretty high pick.
