That is the first one I thought of. I learned it on my Trumpet in Junior High. It definitely lost something in the translation.

unless you just don't know the name of the song (which i didn't until about 2 weeks ago when i finally heard it and caught some lyrics to look up), how can you not answer Baker Street?

maybe i'm just too simpson's influenced and from seeing it on the show (like codell mentioned) i have elevated it or something, but the sax part is freakin' awesome (and i don't even like songs like that in general).

if they were teaching Sax Instrumentals 101, Baker Street is the first song they would play.

"Jungleland" by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

    Best. Saxophone. Solo. Ever.

"The Heat is On" by Glen Frye

As my high school band director was fond of saying, "Bad sax is better then no sax at all."

    Anything by the following:
    John Coltrane
    Charlie Parker
    Dave Sanborne

....and generally any old big band song. You know, Glen Miller, etc.

One of my all-time favorite sax solos is a song called Cherokee by The Revels. Its on the Pulp Fiction sountrack, the one that starts the "Bring out the gimp" scene. That song freakin' wails.
