I thought it was Southwest Wrestling with Junk Yard Dawg, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Kumala the Ugandan Warrior. I think mattress mack started doing his commercials there also. And what was that old commentators name who did that I.W. Marks jewelers commercial where he is wearing the earings and says " If I.W. Marks can make my ears looks pretty, think what it can do for yours" or something like that. That was freakin funny.
Maxwell over Drexler? Puh-lease. Max might have had a couple more years as a Rocket, but I will never forgive him for quitting on the Rockets after 1 game in the playoffs. That is more pathetic than Quitten.
Paul Boesch. He used to be a wrestler. It was originally Houston Wrestling then they formed some alliance with Mid-South Wrestling. Remember Gino Hernandez (committed suicide), Tully Blanchard and my all time favorite - Bruiser Brody with his sheepskin boots. The Yellow Cab "Hays Street" commercial also ran in the afternoons on channels 26 and 39.
kidrock8: it's a tough one, but i'll take maxwell because 1) clyde was only here for 1.5 years; 2) we don't win the first championship without maxwell's ballsy shooting versus the suns and the knicks...especially the game seven 3; 3) his longevity 4) his heart yea, he did quit on the team. and that is a black mark on him, but i can forgive that in lieu of what he brought. on a side note, drexler can be a real prick.
QUOTE]How could you forget Pete Chilicut? Anyone? Anyone?[/QUOTE] hahahaha.. the BIG CHILLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drexler a prick? You must know something we don't, because the consensus in Portland, Houston, and the rest of the country is that he was one of the more classier players in the NBA.
Can't blame anyone forgetting about it when Shaq completely dominated Yao the 60-70 minutes after those initial 5 minutes. Yao's still got a way to go to be even mentioned in the same breath as Hakeem.
