I dont remmber when the game actually happened but I think someone for the Warriors had a great game a scored like 50 points against us to. That to this day, is the best basketabll game I have ever seen!

    Wasn't that just a 3-game 'mini-series'?

They didn't move to a full 7-game series until after that, I thought.

    Could be wrong though.

Not only that, but the Lakers were the defending champions, and won again the following season! This was an amazing team, the Lakers. Won 62 games in '85-'86. I hate to say it, but you have to give them their props. And they had a great coach. As good as they were, the Rocks beat them... simply stunned them. Hell, stunned the league. The only better team was the Celtics. That Celtics team was arguably the best of all time. No shame for a young team on the rise, the Rockets, to lose in 6 to the Celtics that year. We were all so proud of them, and everyone in the country expected a new dynasty from the Rockets. Fate gave us something else. :(

Nero, it was a 7 game series. It was the Western Conference Finals.

Sampson or Elie???? With Sampson, it was the improbable but with Elie it was a reckoning. I will never ever forget Charles Barkley(when he was the enemy) going to the chalkboard when asked about AC Green's statement that Phoenix would never relinquish a 3-1 lead over the Rockets. Barkley, in front of a bunch of reporters and TV cameras walks up to the chalkboard and writes, "It won't happen!", throws down the chalk and guess what IT HAPPENED.

Who remembers the Chuckster pushing Olajwon down at the end of that game after Elie hit the shot? I am sure it was just frustration, but you could just tell how PO'd he was.

Hm, you're right.. but didn't we also beat them in the playoffs in a mini-series, earlier, maybe it was a Moses Malone year or something? Agh, the memory is always the second thing to go...

I'd have to say Sampson's because of the time constraint involved.
