I havent seen Casino, but I do love the Forrest Gump one because of all the great old music. and on that theme, I would also nominate FM Good Morning Vietnam Woodstock Joe Dirt Maximum Overdrive Last Action Hero has some cool stuff. Song Remains the Same, how could you go wrong with an all Zeppelin soundtrack? and on that vein... For Those About To Rock: Monsters in Moscow Let There Be Rock

Urban Cowboy is what occasioned this thread. I jumped into bed late after working late at my desk. Flipped on the TV and hit on Urban Cowboy about halfway through. I'm not a country music listener but I love the music in the flick. When Bud took Sissy back I jumped up and started this thread... Man how I love the Cowboy Wisdom of Uncle Bob! ~"Pride is one of the Seven Deadlies, you know Bud. I thank the Big Man Above every night that he gave me a throat big enough to swallow mine. I nearly losts Corren and the kids a couple of times because of my pride. Hell, without Coreen and the kids, I'd be nothing but another pile of dog crap in the cantaloupe patch."
exactly...i do too. i remember i used to have the soundtrack as a kid and i loved it...everytime i see the movie, i'm impressed with it...it fits the movie perfectly. again..i thought leaving las vegas did the exact same thing...but i do love jazz music, so i own that cd now!
Reservoir Dogs Dead Presidents Blow Forrest Gump Deep Cover Lost Boys Jungle Fever (All Stevie Wonder) 8 Mile, if you are a hip hop fan and was in high school or college around 94-95, this was one hell of a soundtrack
The movie that ruined Motown for me. Whenever I hear Marvin Gaye, I immediately get the awful vision of a bunch of middle age white yuppies dancing around like idiots while doing the dishes. My favorites: The Last Temptation of Christ The Harder They Come Risky Business The Graduate
good call...i forgot about that one..."these three words!!!" good stuff. The Freak -- everytime you post about music, you make me feel like a music snob. stop it!
Man, my ex-wife hated that movie. She dismissed it as nothing but a fantasy flick for guys. I said "Yes, well it is that but it is immersed in a sea of chick-flicks. What's wrong with a movie that appeals to guys." She thought it was disgusting and we were divorced some years later. I think this is a real piece of evidence of how we went wrong. She was full of over-the-top feminism approaching men do nothing good ever at all. I guess she used to love me at one time...
You guys mentioned most of mine, but I always liked Grosse Point Blank and Singles Also, Coolworld had a pretty hip soundtrack. I also like O Brother where art thou? I also like the Graduate (and yes, I'd pay a ridiculous amount to go see a very old Simon and Garfunkel) Easy Rider and Amadeus I like the soundtrack in Donnie Darko too.
O brother and the graduate are good picks. Do you know the sequel soundtrack of O brother which is called "Down from the mountain" - is also very good.
Some I forgot that I have and enjoy The commitments Dances with Wolves Also, Natural Born Killers had a pretty cool soundtrack And..... Pretty in Pink
"The Graduate" is a good one, subtomic. And "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" is great. I really like the soundtrack of "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice". The ending song is something we need more of.
