You are the one who called me out and unilaterally found me "guilty of hate crimes" while claiming that you alone were the jury. I wasn't even talking to you when you chose to attack me on page 3. I listed my favorite moment as the "nail in the coffin" shot and responded to DD, then you chose to get involved.

I will certainly take credit for helping, but the thread derailment would not have happened without you as well.

you are guilty, but the punishment is in your heart when you are forced to remember the championships, the big shots and emotions of the hero.
also when you hear that Sam Cassell or Mario or Kenny giving him props. Staying loyal to their friend. You are broken when you wonder why do they love him?

tinman, i bet you were sad when Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling of Enron were convicted. those guys were heros huh? look at all the money they gave away. look at the beautfiul stadium they helped build for the Astros. who cares that they stole millions and ruined people's lives. after all, they're Houstonians.

    Vernon Maxwell > Enron.

He was honest to the people, he would let you know how he felt. You can't shread away his legacy and importance to the Rockets.

If there was a stadium, it would be... MAXWELL HOUSE!

Quoted from the New England Journal of the Freaking Obvious. Also in there:

    Rockets > Mavs
    Hakeem > David Robinson
    Enron > Kermit Washington
    Water = Wet

You better bet your mother****ing ass I will be there if he shows up.

tinman has magical clutch city powers, so he can channel the spirit of max and sam and bob, and otis, and rudy, and and chris jent. That way he can score 200 points, grab 150 rebounds, dish 100 assists, get 50 steals, and 25 blocks.

    with of course zero turnovers.

Austins what, a 90 minute drive down 290?

Vernon will be there. He's always looking for a game. He's also looking for a restraining order. Vernon better be happy with the minutes he is getting. I don't want him to punk out on me, and sell me out, after bailing him out again.

I've been waiting for a CF pick up game. I may have lost a step or six from the smeg world tour, but it's still good.

We should have 3 teams, Team old school Rockets, Team new school Rockets, and Team VSPAN..
Team VSPAN sits on the bench the whole time!!

I am never "forced" to remember the championships, I remember them often of my own volition. I do remember the big shots of the hero (Dream) and fondly remember the clutch play of Maxwell in 1994.

The punishment is in YOUR heart when you remember the second championship and are forced to remember the selfish game of pride and ego that Max played.

They are loyal to him because he was their friend. I was a fan, not his friend, so I remember him for what he did on the court. I still get chills when I think of the outburst when we were down 0-2 in Phoenix, I get a similar feeling when I see the "nail in the coffin" shot against the Knicks.

However, none of that changes the fact that Max went AWOL and refused to act like a professional in '95. He let his team down and he let me down.

That's where you're wrong. He knew he wasnt coming back to the Rockets. He knew he was getting less play time. He even mentioned that he thanked the Rockets for his time there. If he was there and not happy about his play time that would be a much bigger distraction.. VSPAN..

Pride is what made Vernon. I'm proud that Vernon was proud and did things his way.

    Vernon is a Rocket IMMORTAL!

Contract disputes? geez, I wonder if that happens in the NBA.

Those decisions were not his to make at the time. He was under contract and a professional fulfills their obligations even if they are not happy about their contract.

Of course they do. Professionals fulfill their contractual obligations, become free agents, and put their pride aside. Max chose not to do that and took the selfish route instead.

Kam, if this is the Kam I remember. Let me know if there's a game b/c I'll be more than willing to guard your non-jump shot.

yes, that put us at 22-1!! And Bill Worrell said that the Rockets had just won their 22nd game in a row! and Rudy had a bad hair day, it was flopping around like crazy as he was jumping into the mob.

I'll let you know when there is one. I still don't have a decent shot.

maybe you hesistate when you shoot. learn from Maxwell.
watch the effortless release and no hesistation on Maxwell's 3 against the Knicks.

no, i jack them up just fine.

then i like to throw weights, and get duis/dwis after that.
maybe win a ring, maybe leave after i don't become the man on the team.

do you have super hero hearing skills too?

I went to watch the Sonics vs Rockets. Got some cheap seats and went down to the better seats in the 4th. Rockets were getting beat by Gary Payton, Francis had problems that game. I yelled out "YO VERNON!" from way back in the lower section, he stops and looks up. He heard me!

    Super hero powers!

Nice to see some Vernon Maxwell fans. I agree he was a great Rocket but ever since he left his teammates for dead he was nowhere to be seen.
Sad but true, he has been a truly waste of talent, could've been all star material. Strange he never got any credit and if wasn't for Rockets nobody would've ever noticed him.

I never saw the 1994 playoffs game 3 against the Suns performance but it sounds like it's his best moment ever.

P.S Does anybody have any of these games on vhs / dvd ?
