it's pointless to have a discussion with him. whenever we talk Texans, his only response is Rockets > Texans. it has abosulely nothing to do with the argument.

    do you like Vernon?

if the answer is no. than you hate anything he's ever done for the Rockets.
    Then you hate game 7.

Start your own thread about hating Max. This is a celebration of a hero!

    Out of the ruins
    Out from the wreckage
Can't make the same mistake this time
    We are the children
    the last generation
We are the ones they left behind
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it
Living under the fear till nothing else remains

    We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond the thunderdome

Looking for something we can rely on
There's got to be something better out there
Love and compassion, their day is coming
All else are castles built in the air
And I wonder when we are ever gonna change it
Living under the fear till nothing else remains
    All the children say

    We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond the thunderdome

So, what do we do with our lives
    We leave only a mark
Will our story shine like a light
    Or end in the dark
    Give it all or nothing

    Maxwell > Texans.

This is how we do it
La ra ra ra ra ra...

This is how we do it.
Its friday night, and I feel all right
The party is here on the west side
So I reach for my 40 and I turn it up
Designated driver take the keys to my truck
Hit the shore cause Im faded
Honeys in the street say, monty, yo we made it!
It feels so good in my hood tonight
The summertime skirts and the guys in kani
All the gang bangers forgot about the drive-by
You gotta get your groove on, before you go get paid
So tip up your cup and throw your hands up
And let me hear the party say

1- Im kinda buzzed and its all because
(this is how we do it)
Vernon Maxwell does it like nobody does
(this is how we do it)
To all my neighbors you got much flavor
(this is how we do it)
Lets flip the track, bring the old school back
(this is how we do it)

This is how we do it, all hands are in the air
And wave them from here to there
If youre an o.g. mack or a wanna-be player
You see the hoods been good to me
    Ever since I was a lower-case g
But now Im a big g. the girls see I got the money
    A hundred-dollar bills yall

If you were from where Im from then you would know
That I gotta get mine in a big black truck
You can get yours in a 64

Whatever it is, the partys underway
So tip up your cup and throw your hands up
And let me hear the party say
    (repeat 1...)

Im kinda buzzed and its all because
(this is how we do it)
South central does it like nobody does
(this is how we do it)
    Ynv, scc, all my homies
(this is how we do it)
Ill never come wack on an old school track

    see man, i knew it!

I knew I wasn't the only one that felt that way.

It's funny, but borderline scary, stalkerish, worse than myself with what's her face.

If I was Vernon Maxwell, and I read this message board, I would have to go MadMax on him. Tell him, Hey buddy, thanks for the support, but get a life.

    Let's see...

You are on the side of a guy who quit on his team.

I am on the side of the guys who laced up their sneakers, put on their jock straps, and took the lowest seed ever all the way to a Finals win.

    Good vs. evil indeed.

Nobody cares about t_j or his rants, but you are acting just like him. You ignore reality in favor of a dogmatic ideology based on a fantasy world that you constructed. You and t_j could be twins in that respect.

Why don't you read the thread over again? I never said I hated Max or for that member anyone on those teams?

Hey Hater, I belive you said that Maxwell's career in Houston was great up until 95 when Clyde was brought here right?

Just answer yes or no please Mr. Hater.

It's Vanessa Anne Hudgens. You can spell it wrong, even though you see it in my signature.

    but whatever.

Feel free to say you don't like her. That's your opinion. That's fine. Whatever. I'm not going to hate because you don't agree.

I already picked my great moment in history.

Plus, I like Max, so I don't know what the deal is. I already selected the shot vs Golden State as my favorite Max Moment.

Sure it was a meaningless game, but it just seemed improbable. The next day at gym class that is all we did.

You see any hating on that? If you do, then, well, I don't know, you do, I guess.

Another great Tinman take. If I had to choose between the Houston Texans and Vernon Maxwell being in Houston, it would be Vernon in a second. Vernon is way better than the Texans. At football, at everything.

Question: Given the same schedule as the Houston Texans 2006 season, could vernon maxwell have won more than six games?

Answer: Yes, he would have gone 10-6 and lost to the Ravens in a close first-round playoff game. The score would have been 35-31, basically because the refs jobbed him out of a touchdown in the closing minutes. Needless to say, the refs were Vernon Haters. Fools.

No because he only would have had 12 games to do it in given that he quits on his team 3/4 of the way through the season.

    ;)

I voted for the suns game....that 2nd half is what propelled us to the championship...if we lose that game, we lose the series and never make it to the finals that year

Not if he is the only guy on the team, and 3/4 is not at all accurate.

About this whole 1995 quitting thing. Can we get one thing straight?

YES. He quit on his team after a loss to Utah in the playoffs. I give you that.

But then what happened? We won the frigging championship in one of the most improbable runs in the history of pro sports.

To me, the man is a hero - he had the vision and self-sacrifice to do what the team needed. He quit on them. They needed him to quit on them. His absence led the Rockets to a title. He is amazing.

I bet he could take the Texans NOW. I'd pay to see that. Vernon Maxwell versus the Houston Texans, four quarters of NFL-rules football. Just him versus the Texans. It be a blowout.

Hey Tinman and CBrownFan are right I mean MadMax's 1994-1995 year was going great just like the first week for the Titanic or the first act of the play Mr. Lincoln went too.

off course! he'd intercept David Carr.

As a high school senior, Vernon Maxwell was the state of Florida's Mr. Basketball, as well as being an All-State defensive back in football . The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 20.2 points as a senior and still holds 15 Gators records. He left school after four years as the Gators' all-time leading scorer (2,450) and the No. 2 scorer in Southeastern Conference history behind Pete Maravich. He averaged more than 20 points in both his junior and senior seasons.
