Yeah...I love GTA because it's pretty much the best game to show off with, besides fighting games.

I can't believe we're bragging about video games btw :)

    Street Fighter II Turbo Tournament

I won the county tournament and the fact that I won was an accomplishment in itself, but it was how I won it in the final match that made it special.

Somehow someway, my mentor/friend and I ended up in different brackets and my mentor/friend essentially taught me how to combo in this game, something that I didn't even know was possible until I met this dude. Anyways, he was heavily favored to win this whole thing, and somehow someway I ended up in the finals against him. We played numerous times against each other, so needless to say we're totally familiar with each other's ability. So there we were playing on the big screen (probably about 45-50 inches) at the arcade, and there's a huge crowd and the local pop radio station was there just for promotion and stuff.

Coin flip, and my mentor wins and chooses the 1st player side and as a result he has to choose who he's using first. He chooses Ryu, which I knew was gonna happen of course. I'm on the other side now and instead of picking Guile to counter his Ryu, which he probably anticipated, I decide to go against the Ryu master with my own Ryu.

Round 1 begins, and although it's fairly close, I pull away with the Round 1 victory will have a little bit less than half my life left. My Guile was probably better than my Ryu mind you, but I'm no slouch with Ryu either.

Anyways Round 2 begins, and I guess Round 1 must pissed him off cause he went super agressive and handed me my ass. He beats me pretty easily with probably 3/4 of his life left. Now, I'm wondering if he was toying with me with the first round.

Before Round 3 starts, I remember how my mentor loves to open with a fierce fireball so that he can edge his opponent to the corner and start his fireball, uppercut trap. So to counter that I could passively block essentially accomplishing what he wants, throw a fireball of my own but at the same time risking the chance that he wouldn't throw one and as a result jump my ass, or I could jump over the fireball towards him and agressivly combo his ass with a Jump kick, ducking uppercut, fireball combo.

I decide to Jump his ass. Round 3 begins and he throws the fireball! I had guessed right, and I pull off my 3 hit combo causing dizziness (back then, a starting combo like that accomplished this). While he's dizzy, I pull off the same combo again, reducing his life to about 2/5 to 1/4. Since I have full life, he knows that it's pretty much over, and towards the end of that round, I'm chipping him to death as he's blocking my fireballs, so as a last resort he jumps towards me to start a combo. I'm ready for it and I super uppercut him.

Game Over. I win $100 bucks and some gift certificates and get my picture taken. Of course I ragged on my mentor after the match, but I also took him for dinner in celebration. All the high school class ditching to the arcade paid off I guess. Those were the days.

Anybody ever had a big heartbreak in a game?

My worst one must have been last week playing NCAA 2005.

I was UH playing in like 2007, I had just beat #1 A&M at College Station 13-3 in a really tough game.. I was riding high.. then I traveled to TCU the next week for a moderately difficult game.

TCU had pretty much had their way with me most of the game, but I kept it within arms reach going into the forth quarter.

I managed to cut the lead to 7 with about a minute remaining.. I drove down to midfield, barely picking up 3rd downs most of the way.. As things were looking grimmer, 4th and 18 at the 50 yard line, I decided to go for it.. I sent my running back on a fly route right up the middle of the field.. he split the safeties, caught the ball and went in for the TD..

There was 2 seconds left, and I could either kick the extra point and go to overtime or go for two and end it right there.

I went for two. I called a FB dive (my FB had 120+ yards on the day) and somehow got stuffed at the goaline.

    TCU wins, 28-27 :(

A few weeks ago in Madden 2005. Playing one of my buddies as Carolina and he was the Dolphins (they're still good on the game because everyone's favorite pothead is still on the team). Delhomme throws an INT-a pass that was deflected a couple of times-and Surtain is running it back. He comes to Delhomme, tries a spin move, and I hitstick Surtain and cause a fumble. Not only that, Delhomme recovers the fumble and runs it 15 yards.

I saved the replay as "Cajun". :D

Ha! A QB can give a hit stick tackle?

On NCAA pretty much anyone that isn't an OL, DL, LB, or Safety can't hit like that.. if you try they will just break the tackle...

Yup! I did it to the same friend with Orlando Brown too. He can handle that one when I bring it up, but he fumes whenever I bring up the Ragin Cajun!

    Wow...a bunch of sports memories.

Mine is probably the first time I beat the orignial Zelda, followed by beating the original Metroid.

I also thought it was aweseome when I beat Zelda: A Link to the Past on Super Nintendo with everything. I had every item, heart container...everything maxed out. I think I still have that game saved if I were to go hook up my Super Nintendo.

I couldn't get past super macho man even in the original NES version! I remember trying for like 2 weeks, but those whirlwind punches kept knocking me out. You can't block them or anything. Finally, I just decided to quit the game entirely. :(

Oh, my greatest moment was beating Ultima 4 and 5 on the PC. Anyone else remember those games?

i'm not sure which moment was my greatest.

i have won stanley cups on the EA NHL series for the last 10 years.
i have won NBA championships on the EA series for the last 8 years.
i have won the super bowl on the Madden series for the last 3 years.
i have won the PGA championship on the tiger woods series in two random years (i forget which ones).
i have won rally cross tournaments, snowboarding series', and indy car titles.

basically - i am the uber-star of our age - and no one can compete. however, the greatest of these moments was perhaps the time that i first defeated the evil others to win the mariokart championship. oh what a day that was.

To this day I still can't do that koopa stair jump one-up trick. :(

My greatest achievment would probably have to be completely finishing Yoshi's Island for SNES with 100s on every single level. Perhaps not that big of a deal today, but some of those stages were reeeeal b****es. Best Christmas break I ever spent though. :)

Getting back to the Tiger's Claw in a Hornet with no armor and no shield generator left and getting the "Glad you made it back alive, sir" from the ground crew in the original DOS version of Wing Commander. Was trying to beat that mission for days. Can't remember which mission it was though.

Beating double Dragon in the arcade for the firs time, though I had to beg my folks for more money...I was like 9 or 10. I don't get that same awesome feeling of playing a vedio game these days compared to the late 80's and early 90's. How I really miss my NES,Genesis and Turbo-grahix16.

Amazingly, YES! There was a solution to the first pitfall! I did not learn of the solution until I was well plast my Pitfall days. Here's a link to the Pitfall solution. Also, yes, Pitfall II had a solution, and I was able to solve that one. By far, Pitfall II was the best Atari 2600 game ever.

I had the most unstoppable Raiders team ever on Madden 2004, I won something like 54 consecutive games and had 12 members of my offense in the Pro Bowl a couple seasons, My QB, RB and FB, my entire O Line, my TEs and 3 of my WRs. I had one WR named Trey Swanson, who I drafted in the 3rd round out of Utah. He had 99 speed, 99 agility and 99 acceleration, but only 72 catch. In only a couple seasons I had worked his catching up into the 90s and he was the most dominant football player ever. 2500 yards receiving and 30 TD catches every season was the norm, I created a play when I line him up in a slot bunch and had him just run sideways out in the flat, he'd catch the ball and burn the defense around the corner for a score at least 75% of the time. Him and my QB were always in dead heat for the MVP award, my QB would usually throw for 5500 yards and 60 TDs. .. My Defense didn't have a player rated less than 88 even in the Nickel and Dime packages. I had so much money that Michael Vick signed with me, but I didn't have much use for him so I traded him for 3 stud defenders. It was sheer ****ing dominance.

Me either :( My best moment was probably beating Super Mario Brothers 1 for NES in 1 life without warping. I remember I was so scared when I got to King Koopa that last time that I had to pause the game to dry my hands.

One time I beat Super Mario Brothers 2, and then after many many attempts I've never been able to do that again. That was definitely the hardest Mario game.

I've never been able to beat Tyson, even though I have got to him.

    My greatest video game moment?

Probably back in '84 when I got so good at kicking ass in this arcade game called "Starfighter," that this guy named Centauri - from the arcade game company - came to visit me. Well, turns out he was lying about what both he & the arcade game really were.

Anyway, a bunch of **** happened & I ended up having to destroy this evil alien empire and all, but I'll save that story for another day.

It kinda sucked having that alien bounty hunter after me, not to mention that my clone almost banged my girlfriend, but it was worth it in the end.

    Good times, good times...
