Why are we still talking about Hakeem? He brought two championships to our city, which is tremendous. But that he and those 2 trophies have absolutely nothing to do with the current state of the Houston Rockets right now.
you pay me $25 million dollars a year, i guarantee you I'll have the same productivity Tmac had for the Rockets in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Because he's the best leader of the Rockets, when you compare leadership you need to compare it to the best.
Can someone make a thread of Tinman's post's PRE T-Mac injuries and accusations of quitting? I'd like to see his posts when we traded for him and during the streak and during the 13 in 33 etc. That'd be a great read. He must have truly and deeply loved Tmac for him to have such passionate hate for him.
Every Rocket fan was excited we got him. Every Rocket fan was disappointed that he never led the Rockets to a playoff series victory. Every Rocket fan didn't like how he quit on the team. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tuMm0a5amo0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I don't hate Tmac. I hate that his stupid fans can't see the truth. When you look up at the rafters in any of the teams he played for, did they retire his number? No.
read this masterful article: http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1545/the_day_t-mac_lost_houston/ then if you don't understand it, then I don't know what to tell you
Curious Tinman. What would happen to you if T-Mac has been hanging around getting real close to Les and Les decides one day when it's time to go, he sells the team to T-Mac? Would you quit being a Rockets fan? Would you love him once more?
Tmac for some reason makes fans think of impossible what if situations like the one you described the odds of that happening is the same as what if tmac led the rockets past the first round of the playoffs I'm about what DID not what IF Hakeem DID Tmac DID NOT
adelman definitely deserves a ton of the credit...but as usual, you're glossing over facts blatantly to support your agenda. tmac played in 21/22 games of the win streak, and averaged 22/5/6 in that stretch and nearly 25 ppg in the 10 games that yao went out for the streak. he also averaged under 3 tovs in that stretch (2.5). he averaged nearly 39 mpg in that streak, with 11 games of over 40 mins, including 2x in the same week that he played the full 48 minutes. rafer did 10/7 on 42/39 in that streak. scola did 9/7 on 55% in that streak. battier did 10/5.5 on 45/39 in that streak landry played in 17 of the games doing 10/6 on 61% no doubt it was a full team effort, with random contributions by guys like mike harris which i remember well, but if it was any other name (besides lin) that did 22/5/6 in a rockets 22 game win streak, while stepping up his game even more when another star goes down, and played THAT many mins as the obvious focal point and didn't turn the ball over, then you would be clamoring them as a "leader" when no one else was really close in terms of individual play. im sure you're forgetting the 41 pts and timely buckets v. the hornets for win #18, or the clutch jumper to beat atlanta for win #20. but because of your hatred, you're too dumb to acknowledge what actually happened. real rockets fans remember everything, you just remember **** that you can push down people's throats. sometime that can be good (ex. hakeem), but mostly it's just blatant hate to support your propaganda/agenda in any thread you possibly can. i can't seriously call someone a real fan when 90% of the posts are talking about tmac and/or lin even still in 2016. i don't even understand how that's possible. whatever though, in typical tinman fashion, he'll reply only to the last paragraph i wrote, post a hakeem video, point to his 99 status, call tmac a loser, label me a LOF, and pretend like he owned someone else.
I don't care what happened anymore. T-Mac was an awesome player and a lot of fun to watch. He was individually one of the most talented players ever. Maybe he wasn't brought up right. Maybe he needed college. I don't know but i enjoyed having him as a Rocket. If he played his whole career here, you bet we'd retire his number. I forgave the way things fell apart because the guy still loves and reps Houston. He still lives here, he still comes to games. Houston. Not Toronto. Not Orlando. Not Detroit. Not Atlanta. Not San Antonio. He chose us. He chose Houston. You can bet your ass Harden will always be an LA boy forever. He's a future HOFer that has his name associated with the Houston Rockets. I'll take as many legends as we can to add to our All Time lineup. Look how weak the All Time Rockets SG rotation looks without him. I still just don't understand how you can praise Vernon when he was pretty much worse than T-Mac. Straight up quit and left the team during the PLAYOFFS over playing time. And not only that, it took him like 20 years to ever even return to this great city that loved him and i bet the Rockets had to pay him to come back and make that appearance.
I remember everything. Trade Francis/Mobley for Tmac Expectations: NBA Champions Reality: A little over 5 seasons: no championship, no playoff series victories 20 total playoff games 1 coach fired Easily the most disappointing superstar in Rockets history or nba history
lol, see. you completely change the subject into the same statements every time when you can't rebut a point. you stated 2 things in this thread: 1.) tmac didn't even play much in the 22 game win streak 2.) it was a team effort, no leader in that streak then an argument is posted to rebut these 2 points...and what do you do? pick one sentence in the whole thing, CTRL+C then CTRL+V one of your old posts about tmac being a loser and don't actually reply to the entire point of the post. and in your convoluted little head, you think you actually made a good argument when you're not actually talking about the actual argument at hand. i'm not even saying tmac was very disappointing for us. i'm not refuting any of that. hell i can agree with that. i'm refuting the statements you made about the 22 win streak. please respond to that. otherwise do your normal copy and pastes.
1. does it diminish it that much for you that it was a 21 game win streak for him instead of 22? 2. why? not even disagreeing, just curious for your reasons.
The 22 game winning streak was a great team effort showcasing rick adelmans coaching and system. Tmac had good games, but i remember role players stepping up like landry and scola. Jvg emphasized the offense to be built around and yao and tmac.
