Thanks, although it didn't really take any effort from me. Just happen to see it at another forum and thought I might as well post it here with all the Atari love. IIRC, this was one of those systems that there weren't too many of, which is why this one was on eBay. The console did sound pretty cool with its holographic images. And with that, I might as well post a pic of some of the greatest consoles never released, such as the Sony SNES-CD: I do think that the PS3 and Xbox2 will be more of an evolution than a revolution, although I'm ok with that as long as it is a pretty big evolution. The Nintendo next-gen console may be more revolutionary, considering "Revolution" is its codename, although I have no idea what they're doing. Whatever they do could be so awesome that it changes gaming drastically, or it could be a stupid gimmick that really doesn't affect the industry at all. I wonder how much each company would be willing to risk on some sort of Revolution given what is at stake. Perhaps if Sony keeps owning Microsoft and Nintendo, one of those companies may try something else out of desperation, but it still would be a risk. All that said, perhaps some smaller revolutionary things could be coming to these consoles. A clip I saw a while back absolutely amazed me (lost the link, so I'll have to explain it). Basically, these French guys were using some type of Eyetoy type camera to allow the physical world to interact with something from a game. They had this computer generated car that was driving around on a real table, going up real ramps and jumping off of them. One of my favorites was when they had it going about halfway through this gate-type object, and when they began closing the gate, the car got pushed out. I was just so amazed at how well the car was able to interact with the real world. With some more funding and development, games utilizing this technology should be pretty interesting. When I originally saw this, I read that the developers were talking with Sony, but I haven't heard anything about that since. It would be cool to have something like that for a next-gen Eyetoy, although I wonder if everything will actually work out well enough for that to actually happen. That seems to have been the plan for the consoles, although I really am beginning to wonder how playable the PS3 and Revolution will be (I guess the PS3 more so than the Rev since I have no idea what they are doing). From what I understand, the Nvidia GPU for the PS3 won't even be ready until the end of the year, so I would think anything at E3 wouldn't be running straight off what the PS3's final hardware should be. Perhaps they can send some devs some prototypes, or maybe some modified NV40/50's. Maybe they can even use their SLI tech to come up with 2 current cards that can perform somewhere around what the PS3 GPU should be able to do. Of course, whatever they decide, they better get them to developers pretty soon if they want playable games that are any good (that is, if they haven't already). Of course, the Xbox2 should definitely be playable, considering when it will be released. If Sony doesn't have much to show/play, then I will assume that Microsoft will win the show. Perhaps Sony could lessen their momentum if they have Square-Enix, Polyphony Digital, Konami, and others make some tech demos or something, especially if the PS3 is several times more powerful than the Xbox2 (hopes for a "4 Cell" PS3). And those Xbox votes still confuse me.
