Crap! Thanks for reminding me of one I forgot though I might go with Killer Queen instead. I think I could drop Tower of Power's "Live and in Living Color" on there in the Honorable Mention category as well and Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime as well as Rush's Exit Stage Left.

So many records, so little time.

Picking top CDs is hard. Some CDs are good all the way through, but no song really jumps out at you. Some CDs have several good songs and then a bunch of crappy filler. Then some CDs have one great, awesome song and then all garbage.

Anyways, here are some of my favorites (in no particular order):

    Peter Gabriel Passion
    My Bloody Valentine Loveless
    Hooverphonic A New Stereophonic Spectacular
Bad Brains Bad Brains (the ROIR album)
Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon
Jimi Hendrix Axis: Bold As Love
    Miles Davis Kind of Blue
    Air The Virgin Suicides
    Radiohead OK Computer
    Massive Attack Protection
    DeconstructionDeconstruction
Jane's Addiction Ritual de lo Habitual
    Big Star #1 Record
Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
The Velvet Underground The Velvet Underground and Nico
Charles Mingus The Black Saint and Sinner Lady
    Soundgarden Louder than Love
    Curtis Mayfield Superfly
    Bob Marley Catch a Fire
Joy Division Substance (btw I hate listing a compilation album, but I don't own any other Joy Divison CDs.)

Some excellent choices, sub. I was hoping you would post in this thread. I got Passion a couple of days ago from Amazon and it's been everything that I have hoped for. I love "A Different Drum" and the last 2 tracks, but the whole thing is great.

A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular is good, but I think I may wind up liking Blue Wonder Power Milk even more.

Don't have the Air, Soundgarden, and Joy Division CDs but they are excellent choices - Moon Safari is one of the CDs that just missed my honorable mention list.

And you are right about bands selling out. However, I still like to listen to stuff like the Goo Goo Dolls or Blink 182 when I don't feel like I have to concentrate on the music. Call it mindless music, so to speak.
