robbie shakespeare - posting this whole album b/c its awesome...

he played on dylans infidels album along with his rhythm partner sly dunbar, mark knoffler and mick taylor - a hell of a backing band.

yes sir, and then the University shut down the show and Firehose was the only band that didn't get to play. So someone made arrangements for them to play at "Locals" which was the size of a living room.

I'd love to see a De Schmog reunion show.

Where’s Jack Bruce? John Entwistle? Someone mentioned Chris Squire but I will mention him again. Tony Levin, John Wetton, Peter Hook, Steve Severin, and Mike Watt are just a few more that need to be mentioned (I guess Flea does too). I hadn’t really heard of Wooten but I am not a fan of Bela Fleck but I respect him. Mark Hoppus?? Is this some kind of joke?? I guess I would go with Geddy Lee out of the 3 people listed but there are so many other great bass players out there.

it should not have taken 26 posts for someone to mention her. we suck yall!

she might be the most listened to bassist of all time. i doubt anyone else mentioned has played on as many hits as she did. and tons of iconic tv show themes. her career is pretty rediculous in terms of what she has done...and she isnt even in the rock and roll hall of fame!

another one i think we have overlooked is jaco pastorious. ill post this one b/c ive been on a joni mitchell kick for awhile. i cant think of another bassist who could get away with overplaying like this, yet still be right in the pocket. there are so many notes, but none of them are unnecessary!

if its the same show i was at then firehose definitely played inside. that was my first time to see watt. king missile was also inside. it was a big conference room or something.
