Bolt can't hold Phelp's goggles no more than Phelps can carry Bolt's golden shoes. You cannot compare the two. One is the best sprinter, the other the best swimmer. Both are among the greatest athletes in the world.

But that's why it was so amazing--it wasn't dramatic. The only thing he was racing against was the world record!

Different sports. Phelps is not the Olympian Lewis was. And special suits couldn't help Carl like that.

    :(

Anyway, not trying to dissuade anybody's opinion that Bolt was the greatest moment of the Olympics - he's not even done with the relay coming still to come. It's just a bit silly to try to completely downplay what Phelps has accomplished.

Oh definitely it was amazing...just not quite as exciting to me as coming from behind to win a race by .01 sec...twice!

If we're talking domination here...then you cannot discount Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh...haven't lost a match in a year and didn't lose a set in the entire tournament.

Oh, I didn't at all. I watched all his races live...but he had many more chances, due to his sport. Phelps rules.

The pool in Beijing is 1m deeper and is two lanes wider than normal pools, resulting in less turbulence and faster speeds. link

Watching Phelps get every gold. I didn't get to see every event in its entirety but I saw most of them.

Usain Bolt's sheer dominance on the track.
