Can I just read one thread that doesn't bash tmac? It is getting really redundant. I think everyone gets your point. U loathe tmac and it seems like some of u would rather him get hit by a moving train than suit up In red.

This was a feel good article and you gripe bc tmac said I excessively. I want the rockets to do better. I want tmac to get healthy. I want Yao Ming to come back strong. I want to lose 15 lb. I want world peace. Man I sound like a narcisitic a hole... Maybe I should talk in 3rd person so I can avoid using I

Prediction: Mcgrady will play and be awesome next year because he'll be the main man.

Remember, Rockets played better without Yao and Tracy healthy...

Actually, there are even several Houstonians I know of that don't know that the Rockets won back-to-back championships in 93-95.

+1. And he'll also shut all of the doubters the heck up.

Anyways, the Rockets should at least get SOME media coverage. I mean our core is much more better than New Yorks...

Lets just give him a chance to show his stuff. Until proven otherwise, Tmac will try a comeback and will make a run to help the Rockets next season.

Totally agree we were undersize - but I WISH Hayes was 6'9!!

Scola and Battier are both 6'10 (though not long armed or overly athletic) - and Hayes is only 6'7...

Oh - and Cook is tall too (almost 6'11).

I'm glad we have DAVID Anderson (don't we?) for this season, but he's not really the imposing big guy we might be looking for!

What else was McGrady supposed to say in that interview? They were simply asking him questions about himself and his rehab.

We all know he isn't very good at interviews.

I believe he praised the Rocket organization at the end, but I'm not sure.

This team has too much heart and determination to ever be counted out. I would rather have that than 5 studs who only want the money, and don't care about winning. No doubt that we are the most likely team to have all of our players go out and practice 24/7, so that we can win a championship. That is what is great about being a fan of the Rockets. There are too many non believers of this team, and it's players. They've counted us out before, so let them count us out again. Honestly, I think it pushes us harder to strive for excellence, and fight for every victory. You can never give up on this team, no matter what the situation. :D

Seeing how a healthy McGrady is our only shot at making a legit playoff run this year, I hope he stays for the season. We will have about 23 mil off the books to sign FAs next year, and the chances of getting equal value in a trade for a contract like that is slim to none imo.

Let McGrady load up for one more run with a respectable bunch of role players, he certainly has a lot to prove.

I think part of the reason people aren't projecting a good season for the Rockets is because they're comparing what the players on the current roster did last year to other teams' starting five. But Brooks, Ariza, Scola, etc., will be in a completely different situation this year, with no stars getting the ball all the time, AND they're young, improving players. Some of them are going to put up considerably better numbers this year than they have in the past. Some will take their game to another level. So comparing the Rockets to other teams based on what the individual players have done isn't really going to work. There really isn't any way to accurately compare them to other teams, under the circumstances. I think that's why some of us have this sense that they have a shot at the playoffs, even with the current roster. I'm not saying any superstars will necessarily emerge out of this group next year, but someone's going to step up and surprise people. Will it be Brooks? Ariza? Budinger? Scola? Landry? Lowry? Someone else? It's going to be fun finding out.

Good point, would Brooks averaging 18-20/game and leading the team in scoring really surprise anyone after the flashes of dominance he showed against Portland in the playoffs?

It shouldn't. No one can stay in front of the guy, and if he is surrounded by the right shooters, this could be a very competitive team.
