That's the one. I had the ability to display a DLP and didn't need the flat panel to hang on a wall, so I saved the money and went with it over an LCD or plasma. Of course, I purchased it over 2 years ago, so I paid a little more than your buddy, but its so crystal clear with nice colors. Blurays through my PS3 look amazing.
I was so impressed with it I almost bought one (and I have a fairly new 50" Panasonic) but I could not find the thing for anything close the price he bought it for and that was 6 months ago.
Anybody read about Sony bringing out 3D sets next year? Sounds like a PS3 kind of early-production dud to me.
