Anyone else heard Jim Rome talking about Cecil Feilder's money problems one day. He said he owed millions to Vegas casinos and he was on the run.

Its sad and depressing all at the same time. I can see where it would be easy to fall into that way of thinking. they should send the NBA rookeis to this site before they give them their money.

Its all about postponing some joy, most people struggle with this concept... :(

Those idiots who blow millions of dollars have no sympathy from me.

I would be the best millionaire ever. Hook me up with $1,000,000 and I guarantee you I'd live comfortably for the rest of my life, while still being generous enough to not be called an a$$hole. It's all about smart decisions.

I'd least these guys are tanking their own money, and not their stockholders, employee's pensions, and the public, let's put things in perspective with a lot of the other persons drawing multi-million salaries.

The NBA should mandate like 7% has to go into a players personal pension or 401K type fund than cannot easily be tapped until 50-60-70 if one isn't set up already. DoD is right, it is easy to sit here and judge them, but more than half of our American brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, would blow it too.

They already have this. There was an article posted a few months back talking about how Vernon Maxwell was working as a janitor to help support himself until he hits 55 and starts getting his pension.

A friend of mine here in Houston was running back for the Redskins.

You wanna know how I met him? He was "High" on coke and walking down the street, I pulled over and offered him a ride because the heat was unbarable.

He had been in the woods about 5 or 6 miles down from Kingwood smoking. He said he owns a business but that he will be broke within 2 months if he doesnt get help with his drug problem. Which he added he picked up while in the NFL.

It is so sad that these men are so gifted but their gifts come back and kill them in the end, because people gave them free-rides because of the things they could do. horrible.

30 grand a month in child support?   What the heck could that kid need? Granted, I would want my children to have every amenity, but dang, $30,000??? Wrap that rascal, guys.
